Its a Boy!!
Congratulations to Roger & Rosemary Mibus on the safe arrival of their third grandchild! Well done to Belinda & Daniel Newnham, whose son, Jonothan David was born last Saturday 7th January, weighing 5lb 10 oz. We thank God that all are well and ask for his blessing on all the family.

This afternoon our Glenelg Aged Care Service starts at 2:00pm and everyone is welcome to join our dedicated friends who present the service, and to share great fellowship with the residents.

Congratulations to Bruce and Betty Malseed who chalk up 50 years of marriage this Tuesday 17th January! May God continue to bless you both and your family with many more years together, good health and joy.

Our Special Commitment Sunday ~ 29th January ~


This will be the day when all who wish to renew their membership for the coming year are invited to present their Commitment Cards which are now available. If you have not yet received your envelope with the card and covering letter, please see Secretary Jim Blake. This is a very special time of great privilege when we publicly witness again to our faith in Christ and affirm our love for our brothers and sisters in the Portland Baptist Church fellowship.

Walking Group
Everyone is welcome to join the Tuesday and Friday Walking Group which is open to men as well as ladies. Just meet at the Fawthrop Centre/Lagoon carpark at 9:30am on Tuesdays and/or Fridays. Please call Lee (5523 4520) for details.

MSG will meet in the Sunday School room after church next Sunday 22nd.

PARENTS & Tots ROOM


Parents are welcome to use the Parents room just off the foyer, with activities for children up to 2 years, if your child is unsettled. It is soundlinked to the auditorium. The Preschooler Sunday School runs all year round during the service, with Bible stories, activities and crafts. For ages 2 years to Prep, downstairs (door just past side gate).

Calling all Worship Team members


All music, sound desk and media team members should have received a draft copy of the February/March roster via email. Would you please check it and let Helen know whether or not it is ok for you - as soon as possible, to allow for coordination with the general church roster. NB: Music Practice will be held on Mondays at 7:30pm.

Great community spirit - raising funds for cancer research!

Seaview House Change of Service


The monthly service at Seaview House on the first Sunday each month will now be held at Harbourside Lodge - just next door to Seaview. The first service at Harbourside Lodge will begin at 2:00pm on Sunday 5th February. Please see Roy Symes or Bruce Honeybun for more information. Our regular Tuesday morning prayer is in recess until after the school holidays. Prayer notes will still be passed along to the people of the prayer group. The monthly Sunday afternoon prayer time will not be held in January.

Relay for Life begins at 6:00pm Friday 17th February with the Survivors and Family Walk. Relay walkers start at 7:00pm and finish at 4:00pm Saturday. PBC Relay for Life Team will again have Narnia as their theme and in keeping with this, the baton will be a scroll which includes walking verses plus any favourite Bible verses. A short Meeting will be held after church next Sunday 22nd, to distribute T-Shirts and take final registrations. Registration forms are in the Hall near the heater, along with the Walking Schedule. Please write times you can walk on this form. Fundraising -2 Sausage Sizzles will be run outside Safeway: Next Saturday 21st January and Saturday 4th February. If you can help please see Debbie.
