CANTREF HOUSING
ASSOCIATION
As well as providing
homes, Cantref also
aims to provide a range
of supported housing
solutions which meet
the needs of vulnerable
groups.
Cantref provides sup-
port services which help
people to live independ-
ently. This is provided
either in a particular
supported housing
scheme or as a service to
people in their home.
The support provided is
flexible and can include
advice, guidance and
encouragement to get-
ting and keeping a ten-
ancy, promoting person-
al safety, accessing bene-
fits and other services
and developing life
skills.
ONE STOP SHOP
The CeredigionInformation
Service (CIS) for children,
young people and their fam-
ilies is a county council
service.
It provides a virtual
one stop shop for a
wide range of easily acces-
sible information for
children and young people
up to the age of 20.
Information available
includes childcare, working
in childcare and activities
for bothchildrenyoung peo-
ple.

CARDIGAN WOMENS
AID has been helping
women and children who
are affected by domestic
abuse for more than 20
years. The charity, which
employs ten support work-
ers plus a number of volun-
teers, provides refuge
accommodation for women
and their children.
There is also an increas-
ing range of floating sup-
port, outreach, information
and other support services,
to enable women who are
abused by their partners to
be supported to remain in
their own homes.
The Branwen Centre in
Bridge Street, Cardigan, is
working as an information
and drop-in centre, as well
as a base for outreach
work. New volunteers are
always needed.

few hours a week to assist
with support work or
administration for the cen-
tre or in the new charity
shop can call the office on

PARC Y LLYN NURSING HOME is
set in beautiful countryside, with dis-
tant views of the Preseli Hills and
within miles of Wolfscastle and
Letterston and equidistant from
Fishguard and Haverfordwest.
It is a 50-bedded unit which also
offers respite and day care facilities.
It is the only home in north
Pembrokeshire which specialises in
dementia care.
PARC YLLYNprovides on a 24-hour
basis sympathetic nursing care in a
homely environment while preserv-
ing maximum dignity and independ-
ence for all residents and understand-
ing support and advice to relatives.
The home also offers various activi-
ties suited to residents individual
abilities, such as a sensory garden
with encouragement of gardening
interests and walks in the grounds,
quizzes and reminiscing activities,
craft classes, visits to the coast and
places of interest, shopping trips,
book and video library and visiting
musical entertainers.
PARC Y LLYN is also very aware of
the residents well-being and comfort
and offers a comprehensive range of
services including chiropody, hair-
dressing, beauty treatment and mani-
cure, annual dental and optician
checks or as often as required.
Each day there is a different menu
and the home caters for special
dietary requirements.
The team of nurses and carers aim
to provide a safe environment with
privacy and dignity in the care of resi-
dents.
