when he dashed a lorry, while over taking it.
LORRY HIT A MOTOR CYCLE -
MOTORIST DEAD
Hyderabad, March 1 (PTI) : During the last
hours of yesterday, near the Vijayawada - Hyd
erabad highway, a motorist was killed in a
accident when a lorry hit his motorcycle. The
driver of the lorry absconded leaving the lorry
deserted on the road. This road was marked
accident prone and proper care has to be taken
by the motorists. Police came to the spot to
enquire into the causes of the accident and
complete the necessary formalities. Such inci-
dents became common on this road. The dead
body of the motorist was taken for post-mor
tem. Later it was handed over to the relatives.
Police are investigating to fnd out the owner
of the lorry. People in that area reported the
Police that the motorist was trying to overtake
the lorry when the accident occurred.

Dear Sir,
I am report that our factory in
Rajahmundry caught fire yesterday because
of the short circuit in the godown. The fare
aggravated as the rubber tyres in the godown
quickly caught fire. Three workers bringing
stock from the godown were burnt alive.
About twenty workers near the godown were
injured before the fire personnel came and
controlled the flames. Rs. 15 lakh worth of
property got completely damaged and I am in
the process of claiming insurance. I request
you to provide monetary support for the fam-
ilies of the dead and injured workers.

Blood : The life saver
Vijayawada, Jan' 1 (PTI) : It was amazing
to see a long queue of students, not in front of
a theatre, but at the entrance to a Blood Dona
tion Camp, organized by the local Vivekan
anda Youth Service Centre on the occasion of
the Republic Day. There was a tremendous
response to the call of the CENTRE's secre-
tary to donate blood voluntarily. Services of
the personnel of local hospitals were sought to
collect, group and store blood. Hygienic con-
ditions were taken proper care of. The
President of the Centre, speaking at the clos-
ing ceremony, highlighted the need to donate
'safe' blood. One of the donors was heard say-
ing, "Real happiness lies NOT in Taking But
in Giving". How True !

AIDS Awareness Camp in Nellore
Nellore, March 1 (PTI) : An AIDS aware-
ness camp was held in Nellore. The partici-
pantswere enlightened about safety measures.
"The young must be ready against AIDS" said
the speakers. The other might be an AIDS
patient. So learning about AIDS is not a sin or
crime. They left that it was the best way to
protect the partner also.
They advised use of condomes. "It may be
wrongly used by the perverted, but it protects
the chaste" said the speakers. They advised
the young against eating from one another's
plates. They also warned against western
method of greeting with kisses. They are
harmful. The camp was organised by help
youth of India - district wing. It was attended
by many college lecturers and students also.

Kurnool, March 1 (PTI) : Three students
who went for swimming into the river yester-
day afternoon were drowned. They were caug
ht in a whirlpool and even their bodies were
not found. They were among the group of stu-
dents who have come for a picnic from Kurn
ool. All of them belong to Coles Memorial
Junor College in Kurnool. The other students
cried for help. But it was of no use. The local
police have been report-
ed to search for the bod-
ies is going on.
