Teacher Tip: Student papers are sent home weekly in Wednesday folders. These can be a great learning tool for you and your child. Take extra time to review graded assignments especially spelling and weekly story tests. Go over missed questions and topics with your child to help ensure mastery of first grade skills. Reviewing mistakes can also help build confidence for the next assessment!

Seasonal Change: winters effect on our dress, work, play, and climate. Force and Motion: words to know include straight, circular, back and forth, push, pull. Holiday- a day to honor someone or something Famous American- Martin Luther King, Jr. and his contributions he made to our country.

Math/Science Innovation Center has a great parent and child event coming up in February. http://nlvm.usu.edu/ The hundreds chart activity has choices to skip count by different numbers. Skip counting will be a focus in February, but fits nicely with our study of larger numbers that we are working on now
