Every knowledgeable person is well aware of the fact of animal dung, human excreta, agro, flower wastes liquid & solid waste of slaughter house, city garbage & dead animals feed in the fixed dome. Bio gas plant to be degraded to yield a very useful product known as Bio-gas, contains 60% to 65% of highly inflammable methane gas which if burnt without air gives luminous flame and can be used for lighting purposes and if burnt with air gives a high temperature non-luminous flame and can be used as domestic fuel, just like L.P.G. and can also be used to generate electricity and produced liquid and dry Bioorganic manure.

SOME ABOUT THE BIO-METHANATION FROM THE BIODEGRADABLE WASTES


International Bio-gas Enterprises (I.B.E.) is a registered organization and is engaged in research & development work since 1979 both at lab & field level for the betterment of mankind. Since its inception, we are concerned with the problems of energy, Bioorganic manure, air & water pollution, scavengers for cleaning dry latrine (toilet) and to keep clean and pollution free city, town & rural areas and to control generation of diseases carrying various insects like mosquitoes, flies etc. for good health and wealth of human being and also protection of ozone layer depletion by the methane gas which is decomposed from Biodegradable wastes in open land, surface drains, sloot, pond & rivers. The animal dung is used for making dung cakes for cooking food in rural & urban areas in dry season. When dung cake is burnt in stove (chula) then houses get dirty and become black with smoke creating air pollution and women suffer from eye diseases other than destroyed valuable manure the animal dung collects in the pits in the Rainy season, around the rural area and drain out in the city. Because of this system, various insects like, flies, mosquitoes etc. which cause diseases like cholera, T.B., malaria & dengue etc. which are lethal for humans life, health & wealth. The above problems were serious issues for human life. So we decided to solve these problems which are being created through liquid & solid biodegradable wastes, with the help of Govt. of U.P. and India and results of our hard working, deep concentration, long studies, practical practices, facing of life dangers, practical training and regular participation in National and International seminars, workshops & demonstrations organized by Central Govt, State Govt, U.N.F.A.O., World Bank & by other funding resourceful organization at National & International level. U.N.F.A.O. organized South East Asia seminar on Bio-gas Technology in China. The government of India deputed Mr. Mohd. Ibrahim in department P.R.A.D Lucknow to attend the seminar and got training to Chinese Bio-gas Technology in 1980. We have all records of Chinese Bio-gas technology with photograph Design & drawing and it proves that our Bio-gas technology is better than China. Our Design and Technology is suitable to have a successful working treatment system through fixed dome Bio-gas plant on any type of land i.e. plain, hills & high water table. The technology is to make energy sustainable houses. The Bio-gas plants construction budget is within the reach of a rural or urban families also running successfully with the dung of one buffalo or two cows with feeding kitchen wastes & attached toilet to meet the requirement of energy for cooking & lightning of a family and Bioorganic manure for the user agricultural land is sufficient per year and pay back period is three years of total cost for the family size Bio-gas Plant and 95% pollution problem is also solved. It has been proved that the designs developed by the organization are most effective to control problem of energy and pollution. The technology has given its considerable contribution in adding new sources of fuel, energy and nitrogenous Bioorganic manure in the form of liquid and dry from the feed of Biodegradable wastes in the fixed dome Bio-gas plant. In other words, it is a process to produce wealth from waste.

Different wastes have their different characteristics such as their density, retention time & mesophilic temperature for bacterial action in the digester slurry (to produce Bio-gas), their setting position in the digester bottom & floating wastes collecting in the dome of the different type of the carbonic materials are different, therefore, one design of the Bio-gas plant will not be worked on other waste to obtain its desired results. Our fixed dome Bio-gas technology is pioneer in the World and cheaper in comparison of other Bio-gas plant and also the life is 50 years without any maintenance (on the basis of field experiences) which has been proved in National and International seminars. We have taken it seriously and done deep study of wastes and finally involved that different wastes need different designs of Bio-gas plant to obtained good results without a single Bio-gas Plant failure till date in India & Abroad.

Sewage treatment (with bath water) without using of electrical & mechanical energy, is used only for pumping sludge from sump well to settling tank), 5. These Bio-gas Plants are running successfully without any maintenance since 1979 in 30 years of their (electricity

installation. The working of the plants can be seen at any time in U.P., Delhi, Kashmir, Madhya Pradesh, Bihar & Kerala etc., states of India & Abroad. We have designed & constructed fixed dome Bio-gas plant of digester volume 1 to 1000 M at mesophilic & thermophilic temperature (high rate fermentation like Kerala), which has controlled successfully 95% pollution and added a new source of income by supplying kitchen fuel / electricity, bottling as C.N.G. for running vehicles and Bioorganic manure in liquid & solid form. Our Bio-gas Plants served for Hotel, Police line, Zoo, Seminary, Schools, Development Authority, Slum area, Cantonment Board, Training College, University, Sugar Cane & Tobacco Factories, Temples (Mandir) & Islamic Institutions. The capacity of Bio-gas plant is decided on the basis of the quantity and type of the waste available in rural & urban areas.

The Govt. of U.P. organized seminars to give training in the different training centers and showed video films to all the participant and I.A.S. officers of U.P. and Govt. of India. Our Bio-gas technology got fame in National and International books, News paper, and National & International telecasts. The sewar & sewage treatment system has been done since 1979 in the department of Rural Development, N.E.D.A., L.D.A., G.D.A., V.D.A, S.U.D.A./ D.U.D.A, water work department. Tourism Lucknow, Deen Dayal Upadhyay state institute of rural development U.P. Bakhshi-Ka-Talab Lucknow, Sulabh International Patna, Lucknow and trained staff of Sulabh, Hotels, Schools in rural and urban areas in India, Vambay & Ambedkar Awasiya Yojna, etc. We have designed and constructed a sewage treatment project through Bio-gas plant at O.N.G.C. (Oil Natural Gas Commission) Dehradun, colony of 5000 people without electrical and mechanical system & electricity used only for pumping sludge from sump well to settling tank and mostly work is being done automatically and the project is handled manually.

MALAWI CENTRAL AFRICA


Malawi Govt. through World Bank deputed their engineers in India for training of design & construction of the Bio-gas plant who were trained by our International Bio-gas specialist Mr. Mohd Ibrahim as a World Bank short term consultant to Govt. of Malawi. He found on spot in Malawi that they had constructed two Bio-gas Plants from some other agencies in 1990 and 1991 with huge investment. These Bio-gas Plants were ineffective and in-operational because of gas leakage from dome. Our Fixed Dome Bio-gas technology was constructed there since 1993 to 1997 with poor quality of bricks available at the doorsteps of rural areas. The Plants cost was within their budget. The Malawi Govt. and World Bank team were entirely satisfied with results of our Bio-gas Plants. All Bio-gas plants are working successfully till date without any expenses on their maintenance and operation.

SLUM MASHALCHI TOLA


Ministry of Urban Development U.P. gave a good opinion about I.B.E. Bio-gas Technology and invited our specialist Mr. Mohd. Ibrahim to know more about our work. The Ministry was convinced and allotted the work of Mashalchi Tola (one of the most dirty / slum colony in Lucknow) project. A sewar and kitchen wastes based Bio-gas plant 60M was constructed in high water table slum Mashalchi Tola in 1998 for 428 families with 2143 population. It controlled 95% pollution of the area and supplied their kitchen fuel to 25 families of the colony from feed of their human excreta through sewar line. The Bio-gas plants results had been appreciated at all levels. Residents of colony were happy, as they were free from air & water pollution and safe from the attack of fatal diseases such as T.B., Cholera and eyes diseases etc., which were very common before the installation of the Bio-gas plant. The Bio-gas plant and sewar line are working smoothly without any investment since 1999. The National and International Bio-gas specialists team of Japan, China & Africa visited the project, they all had appreciated it very much. Ministry of Urban Development Govt. of India was so much impressed with the working of the Bio-gas plant that on seeing fruitful results of the projects sanctioned a proposal submitted by SUDA / DUDA Lucknow to make many Lucknow slum colonies pollution free & supply them cooking gas on the basis of slum Mashalchi Tola technology. Slum colony Panni Wali Gali Thakurganj, Vambay Awasiya Yojna, Para Narpat Khera, Slum colony PandeyKa-Talab, Nagar Panchayat Itaunjaa, Moazzam Nagar (Sewar by Scavengers Pale Depo), Prakash Nagar, Lucknow (By :- Lucknow Jal Sansthan), Deen Dayal Ashrayheen Yojna, Takrohi.

The Senior Officers of City Nagar Nigam, District Urban Development Authorities and Water Boards of U.P. etc. were involved in the projects. All of them were highly impressed to see the pollution free working of the Bio-gas plant. The concerned Departments allotted us work for their various projects under sanitation program in Lucknow. The sewar line is 35% cheaper in comparison to old sewar line laying system. I.B.E. is only an organization concerned with design & construction of the project shall run upto 30 years on the basis of separate agreement.

DESIGN PARAMETERS FOR A SEWAR BASED PROJECT


A project for construction of Bio-gas plant, through conversion/construction of dry latrines into pour flush water seal latrines and its connection through sewer line which carries the raw materials (human excreta) to the sewar based Bio-gas Plant. The project could deals with Night Soil with the benefit of production of Bio-Gas which could be used for Cooking, Lightning and electricity generation.

PROCESS OF BIO-GAS PLANT


(i) (ii) The feed (Sewage) to the plant is carried by the sewar line. Once the sewage has entered into the digester it is subjected to anaerobic Bio-gas degradation and is produced by Mesophilic Bacteria at the temp. between 250C to 350C. The Bio-Gas primarily consists of 60 to 65% Methane (CH4) along with other gases such as CO2, CO, SO2, H2S, etc. (iii) The produced Bio-gas is accumulated in the dome of the Bio-gas plant and is tapped for supply from top of the 'Dome' through gate valve and G.I. pipeline. When the gas is not being consumed it accumulates in dome and pressure gradually increases as more and more gas accumulates. This gas pressure presses the top surface of the digester slurry and the level of the slurry begins to rise in the outlet of plant upto discharge hole, finally when sufficient gas has accumulated in dome the entire gas portion is filled with the Bio-gas and the digester slurry in the upper portion of the digester is forced into the outlet which begins to overflow and the gas portion of digester decomposed slurry flows out through outlet discharge hole on top to channel into the sun-drying slurry beds or to sloot. (iv) When the Bio-gas is consumed then the pressure of the accumulated gas in the dome decreases and the level of the digester slurry begins to rise and the slurry in the inlet and outlet recedes back into the digester. Because of this hydraulic pressure the sewar line never gets choked and requires no maintenance for running without investing single rupee for cleaning sewar line as proved since 1999 in slum Mashalchi Tola.

FLOWER WASTES BASED PLANT


We have constructed 52 M digester volume Bio-gas Plant in Sri. Balkeshwar Hanumanji Mandir in Nirala Nagar, Lucknow in 2007 for solving the pollution problem from the flower waste, dung and all other bio-degradable waste of the temple which is first in its type. After construction of this Bio-gas Plant temple campus is absolutely free from pollution besides getting cooking gas used for food preparation for temple staff as well as lighting purpose.

KASHMIR
One eyewitness case of failure of septic tank & soak pits in Kashmir is before us and we felt necessary to quote it here to know about high effectiveness of our Bio-gas technology. In Darul Uloom Bilaliya Lal Bazar Srinagar Kashmir, 500 students and staff were residing there. The management of institution got constructed community latrines (toilets) attached with small septic tank and soak pits. There were also 10 seated latrines in main building and 21 seated community latrines attached with big septic tanks, effluent was connected two soakage pits. The sewar system failed completely there. The whole area of

the Darul Uloom was polluted badly, 200 students became victims of fatal diseases such as T.B., eye diseases and 200 students left the Darul Uloom. Management and staff were worried about the situation and they were in the search of solution of the serious problem. They were contacting to the concerned departments, persons and specialists who suggested them that drinking water should be treated before its used to control T.B. All suggested equipments of water treatment were installed in the campus and followed other water using instructions of experts but T.B. was not controlled. Students were admitted in medical hospital for the treatment regularly. The news was broadcasted on TV and Radios from Kashmir stations. Through some official contacts, they were suggested to contact our Bio-gas specialist Mr. Mohd. Ibrahim for the solution of their problems. After studying situation, he found that sewar system had failed and he suggested that T.B. is because of air pollution from the failure of sewar system and not because of drinking water. Our sewar based Bio-gas plant 30 M was constructed in 2002. It controlled pollution and serious diseases such as T.B. and Eye diseases completely.

I.B.E. SEWAR AND SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEM


We have developed designs of suitable sewar and sewage treatment fixed dome Bio-gas Plant without bath water as well as with bath water. Our technology on the basis of our successful experiences speaks loudly and expressly that the sewar treatment project without bath water is more effective and lesser expensive with longer life of 50 years on the bases of field experiences. Also it does not requires any extra money to maintain and run the treatment system. The initial capital investment is also lower if the sewar line is laid according to our design and attached with sewar based Bio-gas plant, as has been proved in slum Mashalchi Tola Lucknow and new developed colonies. The specialty of our Bio-gas technology is that it does not need big dia hume pipe deep and long distance sewer line. The sewar treatment project can be set up in a colony park or any type of open land near by in slum and new developed colonies, and rural area just by laying 0.60 to 1.20 M deep main sewer line with small dia hume pipe and manholes 1.20 M deep and the depth of manhole comes automatically design of Hydraulic pressure of the digester slurry.. The project construction/installation does not effect routine work of the colony residents and other departments like electricity, telephone etc. During installation of project road accidents, road blockages, flowing of sewar on the road and lane are never seen in our design whereas they are very common in other designs. The treated water of the project is 95% pollution free, which is used for top dressing in parks, lawns and agriculture field etc, or it can be disposed on the surface drains of the road by sewar lines laying. The construction of septic tanks and soak pits are not needed, because this system spent enormous money and also creates air and water pollution in the area soon after their construction and also during the time of cleaning.

OLD SEWAGE TREATMENT SYSTEM


The project installation of sewage treatment with bath water is costlier and needs regular running expenses, i.e. salary of the staff employed in operation of the project, chemical treatment, i.e. consumption of alum, lime & electricity for running the treatment system. Important points to discourage the old technology such as firstly, laying of sewer line is expensive, secondly, it needs a running expenses regularly, thirdly the earning from the project is lesser as there is no income from the treated water, which is directly connected to sloot or river, fourthly maintenance of the project is also expensive. And also creates air & water pollution which can be seen on such treatment systems.

BIO- METHANATION SYSTEM FROM SLAUGHTER HOUSE LIQUID & SOLID WASTE
The existence of slaughterhouses can be evidenced from the emergence of British Empire in India. According to the consumption pattern and demand of Indian population (Urban & Rural) slaughtering of buffaloes, cows, goats, chickens and pigs are very common. The slaughter house pay no heed to the liquid and solid wastes but only throw the solid waste in the open land for decomposition of liquid wastes to drain out. These slaughter houses cause grate air and water pollution. On the other hand, wastes left in open areas attract dogs, vultures, eagles & crows etc. causing localized pollution around the slaughter houses, also spreading over a large area and as a result of neighborhood people suffer a lot due to the diseases caused by pollution. We have seen modern slaughter houses where after slaughtering the solid wastes are burnt in the incubator and its smoke pass out in the sky through mild steel chimney and thus create air pollution and the liquid wastes being carried in open sloot for treatment and thus the whole modern system creates air and water pollution around the area. The mechanical and electrical systems for treatment are very expensive and need maintenance. Further for destroying the solid wastes the electricity is consumed in the incubators while destroying the wastes. The nation is loosing the valuable organic manure and methane gas. Beyond this, these liquid and solid wastes through I.B.E. Bio-gas technology produce Bio-gas and generate electricity and also organic manure, and results is in pollution free slaughtered area & without throwing of meat pieces & bones by birds in neighborhood houses. Now pollution has become a global problem, due to the pressure of growing number of slaughter houses situated in the inhabited areas. Considering the situation of pollution caused by slaughter houses of inhabited areas. Government has decided to shift such slaughter houses to the outskirts of the cities with a treatment plant for the wastes. But this decision taken by the Government has to insure a large amount of investment on the slaughter houses owners. Of course, the shifting of slaughter houses is a short term or partial measure to confront the problem of pollution caused by slaughter houses because many modern slaughter houses which are constructed according to the directions of the Government in the inhabited areas with modern treatment system and also burning solid wastes through incubator are regularly creating pollution and consume electricity which can be seen in modern slaughter houses.

SLAUGHTER HOUSE WASTES PROBLEM SOLVED BY I.B.E


In such situation some other measures have to be explored. We have designed and constructed for a slaughter house a pilot project in 1995 at Delhi Cantonment Board New Delhi near Supply Depot Nagal New Delhi on the basis of 50 goats being slaughtered their per day. The pollution problem solved 95% in the area birds and vultures no longer infested by the locality. The project is eco-friendly and produces useful Bio-gas is still using as cooking fuel in the staff colony and also provides very valuable Bioorganic manure, which also has immense export potential. This project was inaugurated by Sri. Jagdish Tytler, surface Transport Minister Govt. of India, the Ex-Chief Executive Officer at the Cantonment Board may be contacted to know the present status of the plant. Mrs. Veena Mitra, the Ex-Director General of the Central Cantonment Board may be contacted for her views on the project as she was the authority who had initiated the setting upto the project. This is Pioneer Pilot Project is running satisfactorily since 1995 without maintenance and at any type of pollution around the area. The Bio-gas supply to staff colony and Bioorganic manure being used in the lawns of Cantonment Board, New Delhi. This pilot Project challenges all previous technologies in India & Abroad and there is no air and water pollution without maintenance, running staff and saved slaughtered liquid and solid wastes to burnt and drained

out to sloot and no need for extra space for the construction of slaughter house. At first construction slaughter house wastes based Bio-gas Plant projected and then can be constructed a slaughter house structure on the Bio-gas Plant at any capacity. Thus, the valuable agricultural land could be saved which will be used for shifting slaughter house from the city.

CITY GARBAGE AND DEAD ANIMALS


A huge problem create difficulties to the human life in the outside and inside of the Municipal area has raised in regards to city garbage, dead animals, its storage and disposal various aspects of this problem its solution was discussed in the meeting. Some photographs, certificates, pamphlets and newspaper about our works in this field were showed to the concern officers and discussed about it widely,Nagar Nigams provided sufficient information according to our demands.

PROBLEMS OF CITY GARBAGE


The city garbage & dead animals are big pollution & other problems on dumping station for its disposal system having no income to the nagar nigam after then facing heavy expenses turning dumped city garbage by J.C.B. and laborers per month. City garbage decompose with its own moisture and during Raining season because of direct wastes moisture and due to rain water the city garbage and dead animals are being decomposed and produce unhygienic gases and methane gas which create air pollution around the dumping station. Also the methane gas damages ozone layer directly because of which the human life is in danger. The dumped city garbage catches fire automatically or burnt by manual to create air pollution by smoke on dumping station, plastic bags eat by cows in city and on dumping station and causing death.

DEAD ANIMALS FROM CITY


The dead animals small and big cattle are carried out from the city on dumping station and the dogs, cats and birds also dumped on dumping station. The contractor taking out skin from the dead cattle and rest body left on dumping station. these dead bodies decompose and sundry which creates hazardous air pollution around the dumping station.

DEAD ANIMALS FROM RURAL AREAS


The dead animals are collected from rural area's in the open agricultural land, near National highways and roads. The contractor takes out skin and rest body left for vultures and dogs. The vultures come down with high speed from the sky for eating dead body of animals and are often hit by aircraft resulting damage to national properties and human life also. The dogs run on the road for eating dead bodies of animals making road accidents. Sometimes vultures and dogs do not eat the dead bodies then these bodies decompose and created air pollution around the area. The city garbage and dead animals are thrown on the road and open space in the city ultimately which are dumped on dumping station for disposal. But this time of present system creating huge pollution and problems for humanity, to make atmosphere free from pollution has become a very difficult task for Municipal Corporation (Nagar Nigam) in present time this system is creating difficulties for Nagar Nigam.

SOLUTION OF THE PROBLEM


Our I.B.E. Bio-gas technology can surely solve the above problems. The design details of available city garbage, dead animals, slaughter house wastes and human excreta through tankers from the city and feed in the fixed dome Bio-gas plant thus the pollution problem could be solved 95% and pay back period within 15 years of the total cost of treatment system of city garbage and dead animals.

CONSTRUCTION OF COMMUNITY LATRINES (TOILET COMPLEX)


Firstly, we construct Sewar based Bio-gas plant in available space and after completion of dome of the Biogas plant then construct community toilet complex on the dome hence the valuable land is being saved which is used in construction of septic tank and soakage pits on other traditional systems. We also provide water tap at each seat and there is no need to take water in mugs. We also bear maintenance of Toilet Complex at no profit and loss basis. The Bio-gas plants treated liquid slurry (water) free from pollution is connected to the surface drains of road sides. The Bio-gas is used as kitchen fuel, other produces such as Bioorganic manure rich in nitrogen in liquid form, is used in agriculture land to maintain soils rich fertility. The projects earning is available for running the activities of the project without any financial help from government budget and the whole area (colony as well as project site) of the site is free from pollution.

A project is submitted to the MNES Govt. of India and copy to Commissioner M.C.D. for the treatment and Bio-methanation system of city garbage 7435 M.T. and dead animals 12 M.T. of M.C.D., New Delhi on dated 19-032007. Total cost of the project Rs. 2119.74 crores and pay back period 11 year for the sanction. Many other projects is in process of construction and sanction for the treatment by Bio-methanation system of Sewar and Kitchen wastes based Bio-gas Plants in the Ministry of Housing and Urban Poverty Alleviation (M/o HUPA), Govt. of India under B.S.U.P., I.H.S.D.P., I.L.C.S. Adarsh Nagar Yojna, Nagar Panchayats, Manniya Kashiramji Shahri Garib Awas Yojna (MKSGA Yojna) & S.C.S.P. Yojna.

OUR SALIENT FEATURES


We can design & install plants having gas generation capacity from 1 M upwards to any capacity of any type Bio-degradable liquid and solid wastes. The Bio-gas Plant longer life 50 years without any maintenance on the bases of I.B.E. design and construction technology R.B & R.C.C. work with using construction materials according to specification as design. The I.B.E. shall runs the project upto 30 years on the basis of agreement with no profit & no loss or in the ration of 70:30 (70% of firm (IBE) and 30% of department) depending on the earning and savings of the proposal. On application of our developed technology, the project will run free of all types of pollution, generating electricity for running the project and road light & produce valuable organic manure for agricultural land and lawns etc. Our Bio-gas Plant is totally underground so that the space above them may be used for any other purpose whatsoever. The construction of Bio-gas plant in single phase.

The Bio-degradable waste are being feed through its inlet according to the capacity of the Bio-gas plant.

The function of the Bio-gas Plant 100% success on the basis of hydraulic pressure and Hydraulic Retention Time (H.R.T.).

When agro & flower waste is feeding with dung in the Bio-gas Plant then it required cleaning within 5 years without any pollution problems

The 95% treated water of the project shall be supplied to the farmers for agriculture field, department lawns by tanker or for disposal by connecting to the sloot.

The department will be help for selling Bio-gas supplying & Bio-organic manure to the users. This system is absolutely eco-friendly. This is a truly and totally natural process. Our Bio-gas system minimize air and water pollution and prevent violation of human rights. Our plants require no maintenance. No external energy and chemical are required (on without bathwater type projects only). Bio-gas available may be used as cooking fuel or burning lamp or for generation of electricity. Our designed sewer line laying system is 35% cheaper in comparison of old system. May be installed at any location even in high water level. May be designed for a specific and Biodegradable matter. We provide tap in each seat of community toilet complex of Bio-gas Plants, hence no need to bring water from outside.
