INTRODUCTION
Introduction to Project
Online shopping is the process whereby consumers directly buy goods or services

from a seller in real-time, without an intermediary service, over the internet. It is a form of electronic commerce. An online shop, e-shop, e-store, internet shop, web shop, web store, online store, or virtual store evokes the physical analogy of buying products or services at a bricks-and-mortar retailer or in a shopping centre. Online shopping provides you the way of convenient shopping by sitting at home and purchasing by just clicking some buttons. We are able to compare product price and features.
Online shopping benefits both the society as a whole individual. The society can save

human resources when consumers help themselves by browsing freely online instead of asking for assistance from vendors.

Purpose of Project
The purpose of the application is to allow the customer to shop virtually using the Internet and allow customers to buy the items and articles of their desire from the store. The information pertaining to the products are stores n a sql server at the server side (store). The Server process the customers and the items are shipped to the address submitted by them. The application was designed into two modules first Os for the customers who wish to buy the articles. Second is for the store keepers who maintains and updates the information pertaining to the articles and those of the the database. The application which is deployed at the customer database, the details of the items are customers? The end user of this product is a departmental store where the application is hosted on the web and the administrator maintains

brought forward from the database for the customer view based on the selection through the menu and the database of all the products are updated at the end of each transaction. Data entry into the application can be done through various screens designed for various levels of users. Once the authorized personnel feed the relevant data into the system, several reports could be generated as per the security.

Scope of project
The online shopping network has established its footprints in India and is spreading all over the country at a very fast pace. India is a country where products get duplicated very easily like one can get a pair of sunglasses of a big brand name at throw away price in low end market places. There is a good scope of online shopping in India as people are more concerned about the products that they buy and they can easily find products while sitting at home through logging onto their systems. In this way they can save money and unnecessary expenses while shopping. There are fewer chances of duplicate products as the websites only promote products that are genuine and well established. Shopping through the online shopping portals is quiet convenient in the modern Indian society where time and money is equally precious. Through social shopping people can get opinion from experts and can make friends online whose wise suggestions prove worth in most of the cases. Online shopping in India has created a new scope for retailers as they can come forward and advertise their products easily and the amount paid is much less than they pay while advertising over television or by other means. The most wonderful of all is that through online shopping portals one can buy products at discounted rate and the rates get discounted further if the person remains loyal to the website .It means one can save more while shopping. Lastly we can say that online shopping in India is becoming well famous day by day and there is healthy competition between the product owners which results in the benefit of the consumer.

Weaknesses and flaws in the scope definition process -including poor stakeholder analysis and project management-can easily lead to costly and unnecessary project failures. Gathering requirements, managing scope and meeting customer expectations are a major part of a project managers work.

an integral part of Microsoft's .NET framework vision.

As a member of the .NET framework, ASP.NET is a very valuable tool for programmers and developers. It allows us to build dynamic, rich web sites and web applications using compiled languages like VB and C#. It allows developers to build very compelling applications by making use of Visual Studio, the development tool provided by Microsoft. ASP.NET is purely server-side technology.

SOFTWARE AND HARDWARE SPECIFICATION

We need a .NET framework for the project (website) to run. Operating System: .NET framework is supported by windows XP, Vista, Windows7 but not by Linux and UNIX. So our project will not run on Linux and UNIX. RAM required: Computer /System should have 3GB RAM so that it can support the project. Software Requirements: Microsoft Office: Most forms and templates included in Quality-Works.net have been created using rich HTML. Since Quality-Works.net is not a spreadsheet or presentation program, a few attachments involving number manipulation or presentation require Excel (.xls) or PowerPoint (.ppt) to open. Open Office: Not all documents have been tested but Open Office is very compatible. More testing will be done. Browsers and Operating Systems: Verified PC Browsers: Internet Explorer Version 6 or 7, Safari and Firefox. Windows XP or Windows 7 OS

Verified Mac Browsers: Firefox, Safari, Camino, Chrome and Opera. Social media networking sites are about to explode as they continue to be one of the hottest commodities in the international online marketplace. The spending of money online has changed many aspects of our life and people around the world, knowingly or unknowingly, has adopted the online shopping trends and are in the process of replacing the trends of retail shopping and travelling to local marketplace with the virtual world. Maybe going to the stores to shop for goods and services or to look out of the window of a retail shop and to study the items in the stores by touching them might still be a favourite hobby for some, but It surely cant beat the ever blooming online shopping trends which will take over eventually.

The highest online shopping rate, 85%, comes from China, Russia and European States. North America follows with 83% of online purchasing activity.
