1. Maintenance & Security Contracts 2012 Solicitation for proposals

Discussion

Action Action: Shari will search the files for the original rfps and send to Marco. Marco will have the new rfps ready in two weeks. Action

Discussion on the need to get the contracts in line with the 2012 budget so will be issuing RFPs for both security and maintenance. Maintenance budget is $4,500 and security $7,500. RFPs will be due by end of Nov. Warren stated that his proposals were submitted because he received OJT federal money that has a deadline of December 31st. His clients need to be certified first and the salary would be reimbursed directly from the Workforce Investment Board within 30 days.

Subject 2. Disturbance in parking lot at 2600 Telegraph Ave.

Discussion Discussion about the tenants at the Sears Lofts apartments complaining about the noise from across the street and people hanging out in the parking lot dancing and screaming until 2 am that has been on ongoing problem for the last two years and are ready to take the issue to the next NCPC meeting. Ja came up with a solution to have his customers that arrive after 10 pm must park in the back parking lot and they installed a back door that is an entrance and exit door that will be used after 10 pm and has added additional staff on the weekends and added signage for no tolerance for loitering and parking in the rear signs. Discussion on the proposed holiday hours increase from Safety1st an additional $917.00 per week for the period of Nov. 14 Dec. 24. Hours: 12:00pm 7:00 pm on most days and increase to 7 days per week. Regular schedule 12:00-7:00 Monday Thurs., Fri & Sat 5-10 1

3. Safety1st Winter hours and holiday hours proposal

Action: Shari will check on a replacement for the PSO.

pm (except First Friday until 11pm). Neelam announced they were having a Pop-up Art gallery on First Friday and wanted to make sure security was aware and would be around. Discussion about having a police presence at First Friday and other regulations for the illegal vendors. Sheila asked for a revised proposal for the Holiday hours based on $750.00 per week for a total of $4,500.00 since the funds were coming from the carry forward budget. Safety1st was asked to work on Halloween and trade that day for Wednesday.

Action: Shari will ask BJ to review the holiday hour proposal and invite him to the Executive Committee meeting. Safety1st will create a revised proposal based on a budget of $4,500.00 for increased holiday hours by Oct. 31. Keun Bae said he will take a picture of the broken trashcan and send it to Shari.

4. Update on new trash cans in the district

Discussion on the issue of obtaining more litter containers in the district. Shari provided a map that showed existing litter containers and locations for proposed 16 additional litter containers for a total of 38 litter containers in the district. Marco suggested the district should have 57 containers (one on every corner). Sheila said there was a fast food trash can dumped on 24th at Telegraph Avenue and the can in front of Rock, Paper, Scissors (23rd and Telegraph) is broken. Keun Bae said the door is broken on the can at 3401 Telegraph Ave. BART has asked us to inform people about the new Clipper Card. Issue of homeless people soliciting merchants to take their trash and then dumping it on 29th behind the fence. Shari suggested we produce a flyer and distribute to the businesses. Safety1st offered to distribute the flyers.
