BRIEFING (TYPICAL) - : Even If The Weather Improves Above The Defining Criteria
BRIEFING (TYPICAL)
The briefing should include the normal items as for any IFR arrival and in addition the following subjects should be covered prior to the first approach: both pilots qualified; runway width minimum 45 m; Two engines, dual channel approach with flaps 40 __________________________________________________________________________________ review destination and alternate weather; review airfield and runway operational status CAT II / CAT IIIA; brief aircraft systems status; brief review of task sharing: The approach, go-around and landing shall be flown by the LHS; At approaching minimums LHS starts to look for visual references, progressively increasing external scanning as DH is approached. RHS must stay on instruments throughout the approach and until reaching taxi speed; review approach procedure and callouts (stabilization gate at 1000 ft); review applicable minima, go-around procedure, ATC calls; Goaround will be dual channel except after engine failure or autopilot malfunction; brief review of procedure in case of malfunction below 1000ft; review the taxi-in phase; No paperwork will be accomplished during low visibility taxi; The airport diagram will be in view of both pilots at all times during low visibility taxi; review the seat position and approach lights as required. LIMITATIONS Maximum headwind component: Maximum crosswind component: Maximum tailwind component: No forecast or reported windshear Glideslope capture by 1500 feet AGL Note: Once the briefing and approach checks are complete, the approach must be flown as CATII/IIIA even if the weather improves above the defining criteria /300/NG - 25 knots /300 - 15 Kts /NG - 20 Kts /300/NG - 10 kts
