CALL FOR SCORES ACL CONFERENCE & FESTIVAL 2012 IN TEL AVIV, ISRAEL

Conference and Music Festival Dates: 14-20 October 2012

CANZ members are invited to submit up to two (2) works for consideration for performance at the ACL Festival. All required materials (listed below) should be sent to CANZ, and these will be forwarded for consideration. Deadline: Friday 30 March 2012 Section 1: Categories:
A. Symphony Orchestra: usual instrumentation, 815 mins. The soloist(s) can be invited from abroad. within 3333-4331-1Tp.+3Perc. Piano, harp, -Strings A.1. Chamber Orchestra: 8-15 mins (Chamber Orchestra) 2222-22 timp Strings A.2. Sinfonietta 1111-111-pno-perc-11111 (Israel Contemporary Players) 815 mins B. Chamber Music: 513 mins Chamber Music pipa, daegeum and pno. (one of each) B.1. Solo and Duet: Vln- piano B.2. Piano Trio : vln. Vcl. Pno , 58 mins C. Electroacoustics/Multimedia: 513 mins. Audio or audio-visual submissions. up to 6-channel sound system, with or without acoustic instruments. (No more than 2 acoustic instruments ( piano, flute, clar. vln ). Score, recording (CD, DVD) and guide of technical plan must be included. D. Forbidden City Chamber Orchestra, China 1Di / Di to Xiao, 1 Er hu/ Zhong hu, 1 Ban hu/ Gao hu, 1 Yang qin, 1 Zheng player, 1 pipa, 1 Zhong ruan/ Da ruan, 1 San xian/ Diyin/Da ruan, 1 Percussion/ vibraphone/ or some orchestra percussions fl. Section 2: Conditions for submissions:

Each applicant can submit up to 2 compositions. CANZ will forward submissions by current members to ACL for consideration. Please note that 2011 CANZ memberships expire on 31/3/2012, and members will need to have paid their 2012 subscription fees to be eligible for this call for scores.

Section 3: What and how to submit:

Please send all the required materials and a signed application(s) form to the address below. With each submission the following is required: A bound score Sound recording of the work, if available A recent photo of the composer, on a CD Program notes (up to 150 words) and biography (up to 150 words) on a CD. For electroacoustic compositions, one score or guide and the system plan must be submitted. When a composition is selected to be performed in the festival, the applicant needs to provide a score and parts at no charge, and is responsible for clearing all performance-related rights of the piece. Please do not send parts at this time.

Each applicant can submit up to 2 compositions. When a composition is selected to be performed in the festival, the applicant needs to provide a score and parts at no charge, and is responsible for clearing all the performance-related rights of the piece. If the composition includes traditional instruments that cannot be found in Israel, the applicant needs to provide the instruments for rehearsal and performing use, and to invite instrumentalists when needed
