Societies Federation Ltd (AFCOF) is established as an Apex Cooperative Society in the year 1987. AFCOF is looking after commercial activities of fisheries sector. MISSION AND OBJECTIVES
MISSION

To uplift the Fishermen Community by implementing the various schemes and by creating necessary infrastructure facilities.
OBJECTVIES

The Main objectives for which the AFCOF is registered. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) To act as an agent of State Government agreeing to implement policies formulated by the State Government for the development of Fishery wealth and fishermen. To undertake procurement and distribution of fishery requisites to primary Fishermen Coop. Societies. To arrange for supply of fish seeds to primary Fishermen Cooperative Societies. To set up fuel depots in coastal areas for use of mechanized boats and arrange for supply of fuel and other lubricants to the fishermen. To undertake procurement of fish. To set up fish stalls for sale of fish to the consumers at reasonable rates.

MANAGEMENT

Commissioner of Fisheries/ Managing Director, AFCOF : Member Special Secretary to Government AH,DD & Fisheries Department: Dy.Secretary to Government, Finance Department Regl.Director,Hyderabad National Cooperative Development Corporation, New Delhi STAFF: The Commissioner of Fisheries is the Managing Director of AFCOF. and he will be assisted by 5 Officers i.e. General Manager, Finance Controller, Marketing Manager, Dy. General Manager, Asst. General Manager. At Present Staff strength of AFCOF is 28 including 4 Deputation from Fisheries Department. The District Fishery Officers are District Managers to look after the AFCOF activity in the districts. SOURCES OF AFCOF The Main sources of the income to AFCOF are as follows 1. Income on Sale of HSD Oil 2. Income on Sale of Fish 3. Interest earned on deposits kept with Bank (The AFCOF is permitted to utilise 50% Interest accrued on deposits of Fisheries Department funds as service charges) :Member : Member : Member

ACTIVITIES OF FEDERATION: 1.Operation of HSD Oil Outlets: The major source of Income of AFCOF is from sale of HSD oil by HSD Outlets. AFCOF is operating 7 HSD Oil Outlets at the following places. 1) 2) 3) 4) 5) 6) 7) Visakhapatnam Fishing Harbour Kakinada Fishing Harbour, Nizampatnam Fishing Harbour,Guntur Dist Machilipatnam New Fishing Harbour Vodarevu ,Chirala ,Prakasam Dist. Singarayakonda , Prakasam Dist and Kothapatnam, Prakasam Dist.

Further, the Boat Operators are not getting the HSD oil regularly at their nearest and convenient places and have requested to establish more HSD Outlets at identified new places. Hence it is proposed to establish New HSD Outlets at the following 9 places for supply of HSD oil to the Boat Operators in Coastal Districts. 1. 2. 3. 4. 5. 6. 7. 8. 9. 2. Operation of Fishoutlets AFCOF is operating 7 fish retail outlets in twin cities at the following places. 1) Gaganvihar, 2) Liberty cross Roads 3) Vanastalipuram 4) Kukatpally 5) Road No.10 Banjara Hills at Matsya Darshini 6) Saroornagar Rythu Bazar 7) Kukatpally Rythu Bazar

3.Establishment of Matsya Darshini. The District Collector of Hyderabad has transferred the site admeasuring 727 Sq.Yards to the Department of Fisheries at Road No.10 Banjara Hills, Hyderabad for development of Modern Fish Market. A modern Aquarium Showroom was constructed and it was named as Matsya Darshini. 4.Performance of AFCOF The AFCOF has made a turn over of Rs.45.00 Crores during the year 2008-09 and earned a Profit of Rs. 31.22 lakhs. 5.Action Plan 2009-10 The following Action Plan is proposed during the year 2009-10 .
