My life has been the poem I would have writ,
But I could not both live and utter it.

~Henry David Thoreau

Pg. 77:

Consideration is writers’ marrow

& supposition our anodyne

(till civil wounds are sutured)

Perhaps velocipede
dissembles / reinvents:

“injun little pilgrim”—the grim in pilgrim

Faction of breed
& sweet sweet sweet potatoes
dug up
brown-skinned & orange-fleshed

Yams

Ravished by CODES

[& on the horizon] Now to be a chickadee

No matter what chickadee resembles

No matter what velocipede expresses

Pg. 66: Pg. 6:

“Or huffing,” said the wolf. “I will. I shall.” Modality’s rigorous industry

Three pigs of beeswax unjarred

Is a long time for one to blush implicates words

A long time banging on doors & words’ de rigeur—

Wobbles up velocipede dry axe handles have yards of it

store-bought
Why is now a dangerous time
to utter / to spiel

One's shame of the brother whom

The apple So clean

Ourselves the being of

Demons are every where edited aloud

Pg. 12: Pg. 61:

Words as witness What technology once proffered “the civilized 19th Century”--
utter sanguinity in the form of pure description—
to something
as yet not present is now legacy lunacy
Thus words must be challenged
Hymns across eyes From root of the tree to shank of the low boat crossing Walden
Pond
Tree line of tree stumps in autumn calm

A path wide & long The leaves the still are a put on
Not down & into A contrivance
of lulls gauged by distances somewhere [blank]
& God a pose off in the past
derived from Nature
The future is in it
is to know shade
stand A little tea
& stone pier off it A little toast

A textile like skin

So human-like
It’s put on & never questioned
Pg. 49: Pg. 22:

The woodlands have narrowed

A direct route being—
The subjective-I plummets tumbles falls--splat!—flat as a life
April 10th: brown earth
[A life sentence]
softened by snowmelt
It means to indent itself like a paragraph for emphasis
but opposed to words
It means indecent insinuations
Who is it stands here
SometimesMAN sometimesWOMAN
in view of—
Rubs “garden” out of the picture
dart of a thrush
Installs “locomotive” “soot” “steam” “coal” “timber” “iron” “rail”
flew over w/ black wings
Rewrites verdant as virtuous
It's dive though brief
Depicts New England as trundle [rapt / evolved]

Spindle [here] to match trundle

The narrow passage is never through enough

Pg. 26: Pg. 31

Esteemed at the decrepit old smoke shed with character out behind Erased are the minutes' Niagara Falls
the little cabin in the woods one blinding afternoon "eclipsed”
accrued funds I just compete & war occurs
The sun was a bond accruing interest
banked by progeny of hope & infinite ruin The likeness of Gloria not Dorothy

& out there beyond hope A stone a red surrealist as fridge

& infinite ruin were thickets of twill eves
& tales of infinite ruin— Either it is gorgeous: 1855
antiquity rhymed with dignity (parenthetically Emersonian)
CODED / decoded
An aesthetics
both yonder & onward inquiring: Yellow deluxe rubber chicken liquid at dolce
how does one petition one’s sovereign
while plummeting to ( h )earth? Answers are not politics

Language is always a floating safety device

A pome on the dusk

A line between oceans
