Instructions

a) The gaps with a star on their left must be filled in order the model to produce results. b) The result tffc_1 (dtlf), which comes from the compulsory data, includes only the passenger's fatigue due to the duration of the trip an c) The gaps without a star are optional. However, the more the filled gaps, the more accurate the result. d) When filling the gaps, notice the notes in the brackets. The units must be the same for all options. e) Tffc in yellow box is the result either under objective or personal evaluation. The result has the same units as the currency used by the f) The blue boxes with borders are filled by the client whilst the red, yellow and light blue ones (section 1.3) are being calculated by the m g) The duration of the trip must be in Excel hours (f.e. 1,5 = 90 min, or 2,75 hours = 165 min). h) For the airplanes only, the duration of the trip should include the check in time and the time to/from the airport if the airport is locate i) There must be at least 2 different means of transportation as an option for the same trip i.e. same destination, in order the client to m j) In case there is only one option, then the result will show the cost of the trip including the intagible factors. k) If the tffc_1 results are not distinguished due to the small differences between them, then the difference between the cost of the trip represents a more obvious result. In contrast, no objective difference can result between the cost and tffc_2 due to the subjectivity (b l) Before completing the fields read section 4, to check whether the model is suitable for your trip or not. m) Enter in the box the minimum value of the row 37. n) The percentage of accuracy between Tffc_1 and Tffc_1(dtlf), is a useful sign of whether the comparison can be based mainly on the dis High accuracy means that the rest factors of the compared means of transportation do not affect a lot the trip i.e. the quality of all the matters the most is the duration of the journey. 3.2 Tables and figures

For the estimation of the free moving space multiply the length with the width of the vehicle or find the value from a technical brochure.

Table 2. Gravity factors selection for the completion of section 2.2. The b factors can vary from 1 to 10. For each one of the intagible factors, select a b value according to your criteria. For instance if safety factor for you then select the b_3 value = 8 or 9 and leave the rest values at a lower level i.e. b_1= 2 , b_2= 1 , b_3= 9 and b_4= 1.

Notice: The lower the value of Tffc, the better the option of travelling. This model is suitable only for international or dome different metropolitan areas. The model doesn't work for movements within the same metropolitan area i.e. trips by metro
