Energy Systems &Technology Education Center Renewable Energy Technology Scholarship

Amount:

Eleven scholarships are available for students enrolling in the Renewable Energy Technical Certificate program. Scholarships valued at $4,800 will be awarded for students starting January 2012. Scholarship funding is limited to students enrolled in the ESTEC Renewable Energy Technology program. 2012-2013 Academic Year Energy Systems Technology and Education Systems (ESTEC) Renewable Energy Technology program New (applicant must be officially accepted into the Renewable Energy Technology program). Compass and/or ACT scores will be considered for acceptance into the program and will be considered in selection of scholarship recipients. A 2.0 cumulative GPA is required for continued funding. Applicants must be a U.S. Citizen or lawfully admitted immigrant authorized to work in the U.S. GED scores, high school or most recent college transcript or unofficial transcript with a current class schedule required. If transcript has already been submitted to ISU, please request a copy to be included in your scholarship application.

Letters of Two letters of recommendation addressing the applicants Recommendation: academic performance and personal characteristics. Statement by Applicant: Include a personal statement addressing your educational aims, career goals in the renewable energy sector, and plans for accomplishment. Include extenuating circumstances and reason if no income tax return was filed. This section of the application is significant to the scholarship selection committee.

Selection Criteria: Preference given to ethnic minority and female students. Financial need and GPA will also be part of the selection criteria. All applicants meeting the eligibility requirements will be considered. PLEASE NOTE: Scholarship recipients who withdraw from ISU before graduating with their Renewable Energy Technology Technical Certificate or enrolling in another ESTEC program of study will be required to repay scholarship funding in full. FAFSA: Completion and submission of the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) is required to aid in determining financial need.
