Chapter 7: The Journey Begins

I heard a constant quiet knocking at my door. Go away, it isnt yet dawn! I murdered under my breath. The knocking continued. Uhhh, I groaned as I pulled myself out of bed and onto the cold, slightly singed, floor. I pulled open the door squinted and rubbed my eyes because of the bright lantern shinning in my face. Cant it wait? Im- My voice broke as I opened my eyes and stared into Konners sweet face. Oh, Konner! Sorry, I Did I wake you? No, no, no, noWell yes. But I needed to get up anyways. Come in. I stepped into the dark room and rummaged around for a candle. I lit lights around the room till my messy room was revealed. I have something for you, He held out a cloth pouch and smiled, It is for our journey, everything you need is in here. Oh except food. Even though it was much before dawn, I smiled. Thank you. I said as I took the pouch and set it on my bed. It is my honor! He gave a small bow. Inside you will find clothes, shoes and other useful things. And possibly a gift from me to you. Ohh, thank you! That is so thoughtful of you.

I plunged my hand deep into the bag and removed its contents and laid them on my bed. There were three gowns, a pair of leather flats; two well-crafted daggers and a small wooden box. I pulled the box towards me and opened it. Inside I found a sliver bracelet with a charm on it. It was freezing cold, like ice that couldnt melt. The chain looked like vines intertwined with each other. In the center of the vines was a charm, shaped like a teardrop. It was sparkly blue and shone brightly. It reflected off the light and an image popped up. It was hot, clear and it rippled like in a lake. It was Konners handsome face. It shows what you are thinking about. If you ever need help and Im not there think of me, then the animals in the area will come to your aid, if Im not close enough to do so myself. Konner explained with a twinkle in his eyes. It is beautiful Konner! I love it! Thank you so much! I stood up and gave him a big hug, he lifted me off my feet and spun me around. I love it. I whispered into his ear. He set me down and said, Good. I have to get changed, so I said as I pointed to the door. Ill wait. His deep voice replied. Okay, hey can you put it on for me? I held out my hand with the bracelet inside. He took it and slipped the cool silver onto my warm flesh. Thanks, Ill just be a minute. I gave him a quiet smile as I flipped my hair and turned.

I heard the door shut as I faced my bed. Each gown was of the stretchy silk material like my cloak. The first gown was covered in wave like beading/patterns with long flowy sleeves. The gown ruffled at the bottom, and it was sliver with a hint of blue. The second gown was a plain white, with long sleeves, and after the hips, it parted to revel a light blue under skirt. Explain about your healing powers, and dont forget to go and get the food from the kitchen for our journey. You end your chapter before we get to the desert!
