The purpose of alkaline f Iushing is to remove any oil, grease and loose metal oxides and inorganic such as salts, which are present in the system. l he chemical used is Sodium I lydroxide (N^ ^ OI 1) solution. Approxinratc loo \w/\V for one hour Flushing The system is flushed with Purified Water to remove alkali from the system. Checking the pI I of outlet and inlet water & ensures both pl I should he equal. .- PASSIVATION Passivation is a chemical treatment of stainless steel with a mild oxidant for the purpose of enhancing the spontaneous formation of the protective passive film. Passivation is carried out by filling and circulating Nitric Acid (I INO;) solution, approximate 5 to 10 1`0 wimw for I hour. Flushing; The system is flushed with Purified Water to rem ove acid from the system. Checking the pI I of outlet and inlet water & ensures both pi should he equal. 6. ACCIiPI_r\NCI: CRITERIA Checking the pH of outlet and inlet water ensures both pH should he equal.
