Trenton Rally:

Save Your Groups Right to Free Speech at Statehouse Capitol Complex Stop Passage of New Rules PRN 2011-254 That Will Affect All Groups, Organizations and Unions in The Future
When: Sunday February 12 1:00 pm to 3:00 pm Where: Statehouse Steps - 125 West State Street Trenton
What: To Preserve Freedom of Speech & Right to Assemble to Petition the Government for a Redress of Grievances at WW II Veterans Memorial and the Statehouse . To Raise Awareness of How Proposed Rules PRN 2011-254 will Affect Future Demonstrations being held at the WW II Vets Memorial and the Statehouse It is important to remember that although these Rules PRN 2011-254 have their genesis in the States over-reaction to Occupy Trenton, these Rules PRN 2011-254 are intended for EVERYONE who uses the WW II Vets Memorial in the future. Many of the rules are very vague and can be left open to the Interpretation of the Courts Because many demonstrations are held on the Statehouse Steps and often over flows across the street onto the WW II Vets Memorial, your group can be denied a permit for the period of 2 years according to proposed Rules PRN 2011-254.

Some of the Falsehoods stated in the Proposed Rules PRN 2011- 254 are : The proposed new rules will have a positive social impact.< Nothing could be further from the truth and more damaging to the 1st Amendment. The Memorial is dedicated to those who died fighting to preserve our rights and

freedom. The Proposed Rules strictly limit freedom of speech and right to redress our government for grievances. Implementing these Rules would be

a dishonor to their memory.

The Memorial has no electricity intended for public use < Up until Occupy Trenton, it was common to see people with their laptops, cell phones and other devices plugged in at the WW II site. Some items of concern in the Proposed Rules PRN 2011-254 are :

> 10 People or More seeking to distribute any written or printed materials, to gather, demonstrate,
picket, make a speech, hold a vigil or other ceremony, or otherwise use the Memorial, must have a permit. School groups would have to secure a permit to visit the Memorial. Or overflow from demonstration across the street.

> Structure- under this category they have chairs and tables listed as structures. That means
everyone who was at the June 2011 protests with a folding chair placed at the WW II site would have been arrested.

> Signs No BANNERS, only hand held signs no larger than 4 x 4 and cant be held no higher than 6 feet from the ground. Nor can 2 or more signs be held together to make a larger message.
These are only a few examples of the ridiculous rules they are trying to pass, that not only restrict the WW II Vets Memorial, but gives them due cause to deny permits in the future to any group at the Statehouse who didnt obtain a permit for the WW II site, also. No longer would you see large

union protests, or anti-fracking demonstrations.
