But that night, Jimmy can t find sleep anywhere. Jimmy kept thinking about what happened at school that day. He felt terribly ill after their break and he suddenly vomited in class making him miss the last day for signing up. It was the biggest mishap that happened to him in that school year. All he wished was to be someone in that play, and boy was he surprised.

Hi didn t know what was happening. His head was aching, his eyes were blurry and his throat was dry and thick. He felt like he was having a nightmare. Jimmy opened his eyes and instead of seeing the confines of his bedroom, he saw a brick wall with cracks that appeared through the years instead. Jimmy tried to discern his surrounding while trying to stand up. He felt sick to his stomach; he didn t know where he was!

Jimmy instantly panicked. There were lots of things going on his mind right now. One of them does not know where he was. Suddenly, he heard heavy footsteps and something tall and big lurking around. Jimmy quickly maneuvered his stance for defense. Then out of nowhere, a man in top of a horse, dressed in silver metal from head to toe with a sword attached to his hip, came in his view.

Are you alright there, young lad? the stranger gushed out, trying not to laugh at Jimmy s appearance. He looked down and saw he was still wearing his pajamas with bare feet. But it was just a petty thing for him. Jimmy was surprised with the man s accent and choice of words. He, at first, pondered whether or not to answer the man. His mother taught him not to talk to strangers. Thinking of his mother, Jimmy felt home sick. But he decided against it. Yes, Sr. I am quite lost and in a need for a ride home, you see. Jimmy answered. What is a lad like you doing here at this time? Shouldn t you be in study? inquired the man as he stepped down his massive horse. The man was definitely not dangerous, he actually felt safe with him around. Jimmy looked up to him; something inside him was pulling him to this man. And suddenly, he felt the need to answer him back quickly. Well, as you see sr., The last thing I remembered before all of this is that I came home from school, went to bed, felt like having a weird dream, and tad-a! Here I am! Jimmy sarcastically blunted out and he didn t know where his courage came from.

Well young man, you have quite a tongue in that mouth. Say, why don t I give you a ride and lead you the way to gates, eh? Offered the man. Jimmy hesitated at first. I would love that, Sr. I m Jimmy by the way. he said as he waved his hand with a sweet smile. The man laughed and patted his back. I m Ceasar, nice to make acquaintances with you, young lad.

As they walked around, Jimmy felt at ease with Ceasar. They kept talking about everything and Jimmy felt enamored of Ceasar.

Say, young man, do you and your mother bicker quite often? asked Ceasar as they took a break from walking and sat at a river s edge. Jimmy sighed. Not that much, Sr. But we do have our times. he said and he felt his heart breaking. Don t you miss her? asked Ceasar. yes, yes I do very much. His face retorted as he answered.

As they walked again through the city s main roads, he saw a lot of women dressed lavishly in flimsy clothes with big hats, giggling when they saw Ceasar. When Jimmy asked Ceasar about it, Ceasar simply said to ignore it and Ceasar himself was driven in ignoring the lovely ladies.

I want to be a knight, Ceasar. Jimmy suddenly blurted out. Ceasar rolled his eyes before admonishing the little silly lad who wished to be like him in the future. Are you sure, little boy? asked Ceasar. You don t know what you re getting yourself into. Being a knight demands a lot of things and sacrifices. But that s what I wanted to do my entire life! cried Jimmy, throwing his hands up in the air. Don t you want to be someone else? An astronaut perhaps? suggested Ceasar. Jimmy instantly knew he was baffling him. And Jimmy feels that it was an immaterial matter to concern with. Anyways, young man. Let s take you home where you belong. I m sure your mother is missing you very much

As they neared the gates, Jimmy felt his heart ache inside him. He didn t want to leave this place. He felt as if he belonged here and hugged Ceasar tightly as he asked the door man to open the big gates leading him home.

Ceasar laughed a half hearted laugh as he tried to pry Jimmy s little arms away from him. Even Ceasar felt bad because he had to let the little boy go who felt close with after a few hours of finding him lying in the middle of an alley way. Jimmy had tears in his eyes as he went past the golden gates. He looked behind and saw Ceasar smiling sadly at him while waving his hand in a farewell way.

His eyes suddenly opened and he sucked in a deep breath. He was back in his room with his mom waking him up. He stood right up in bed and hugged his mother tightly as he could. There was nothing more he wanted right now than to be with his mother. I love you Mommy. he said before leaving the house and running his way to school with a big smile on his face. He then decided, why not join the play of The Great Ceasar?

THE END.
