I only know the gist of it so if anyone else wants to write something about that, go ahead and be my guest. I'm also going to try and not put spoilers for the respective series, but since I haven't seen them all and I don't know what are and aren't spoilers, there may be spoilers below.

This is my first faq ever, and I am very open to criticism and critiques. Also, please contact me somehow if I didn't include you for giving credit for material in the faq. =========================================================================== ==== Menus and such =========================================================================== ==== Now I'm going to try my best to explain everything in the various menus. Top Menu ========= New Campaign - Starts a fresh campaign just in case you don't feel like finishing your current one for some reason. Continue - Goes to the intermission screen of your current campaign. Multiplay - Goes to the multiplayer mode, which is like Free Mission, but with two people and far less missions. Free Mission - Goes to the Free Mission mode. From here, you can do any mission that you've completed in the campaign, plus extra missions and Vs. missions against other units in the game. 2p Vs Mode - Let's you fight against your friends with your favorite mechs. Load Save File - Let's you, umm, load a different save, or the same one if you really want to. Intermission ========== Launch - Goes to the Global Meeting where a commander talks about the mission, then a briefing about the mission objective, and then the hanger. Unit Enlist (Buy new unit) - Where you buy units. It won't appear if there's nothing to buy. Unit and Term Glossary - Explains about the various units and terms used in the game. Unit Viewer - Let's you look at all the units in all their 3d glory. Left stick is move the camera, right stick is rotate the camera, L1 is zoom in, R1 is zoom out, L2 is previous unit, R2 is next unit, R3 is

Battle Records - Let's you view your battle records. First screen shows how many missions you've cleared with each respective series. Hit square to get unit info. First column is rank, second is the unit, third is how many ACE points each unit has gotten, fourth is how many missions each unit has cleared, and last is how many enemies each unit has killed, I'm assuming. I'm not 100% on the last column. Movie Viewer - Let's you watch all the wonderful movie sequences in the game Options Menu - Goes to options Back to Top Menu Unit Selection =========== Launch - Continue to Mission Player Setup Wingman 1 Setup Wingman 2 Setup Back to Intermission These are all pretty self-explanitory. Player Setup - (Wingmen Setup is the same except there are no testing options) ========== Select Unit - Select your unit to use in the mission. Upgrade Unit - As you gain experience and ACE points in battles, you can use them to upgrade your unit. The upgrades are in this order from top to bottom: Armor Dash (Increase speed) Vernier (Your boost gauge) Turning Attack Strength Repair Armor - Spend ACE points to completely repair a unit in between missions. If you are in Free Mission mode or something, the units get repaired after each mission anyway.

Test Area: Ground - Tests how your unit moves and fights on the ground. Also explains any abilities and weapons with not obvious uses a unit might have. I'll figure out how to word that better later... Test Area: Space - Tests how your unit moves and fights in space. May also explain weapons here too. I'm not sure since I never messed with it after the first time. Test Area: Basics - Gives a basic tutorial of unit controls. Multiplayer ========= Launch - Goes to Briefing. Mission - Chooses which mission you want to do. Difficulty - Sets the difficulty . Battle Records - Same as Intermission. Options - Goes to options. 1P Controller - Sets the 1p controls which will be explained in the Options menu. 2P Controller - Sets the 2p controls. Return to Top Menu Free Mission =========== Launch Mission Difficulty Unit Enlist (Buy new unit) - Same as Intermission Battle Records Options Return to Top Menu The information on the right shows the high scores for the stage and difficulty. From the top of the box to the bottom: High Score Rank - Shows what rank you got in the mission. From lowest to highest: Rookie,

Pilot, Leader, Veteran, Ace. Fastest Time for that stage and difficulty Most Points for that stage and difficulty Least Damage Taken for that stage and difficulty Ranks Box - Total number of ranks you've gotten and then the ranks and how many of each you've earned. Secret Box - Tells you the stage's secret requirement (not much of a secret, huh?), and whether or not you've completed it. If you have done the secret, there will be two kanji above the explanation for the requirement. 2P Vs Mode ========= Launch Stage - Pick a stage Time Limit - 30 sec, 60 sec, 90 sec, Infinity BGM - Pick your music that plays during the fight 1P Team Setting 2P Team Setting 1P Handicap 2P Handicap 1P Controller 2P Controller Return to Top Menu I've never played Vs. so I'll leave it to someone who has to explain the settings.

Controller Settings - Controller Type (Shift Type or Select Type) Flight Type (Easy, Flight, Easy Reverse, Flight Reverse) Easy - I'm not good with flight terms so I can't really express what I want to say about how it controls. Flight - see above Reverse - up is down Radar Operation (Semi-Auto or Manual) On semi-auto, the camera zooms in when you lock onto something. Camera Operation (Normal, Up-Down Reverse, Reverse) Vibration Key Assign Default Sound Settings - Sound (Stereo or Dolby) BGM Volume SE Volume VFX Volume Attack Voice BGM Type (Vocals type Songs, Vocaless Songs, or Random) BGM Test Default Screen Settings - Brightness Contrast In-game Pause Menu ================== Return to game Map Analysis - Shows the squadrons on the map, their squadron power (the stars), and their squadron AP. Mission Objective(?) - I think this shows the success and failure conditions. Mission Log Command List - Shows the command list for the unit you are piloting. Retry Mission Quit Mission Game Controls

============= Since this is a Japanese game, circle is confirm and x is cancel. With Shift controls, L1 makes all the other weapons the other unit has usable, i.e. L1+square would shoot a unit's missile instead of its machine gun. With Select controls, L1 chooses what weapon or function you want assigned to square, kind of like in ZoE except the action doesn't stop. From here on in, I'm going to be explaining things from the basis of Shift control because I feel that it is vastly superior to Select control. Gameplay Controls ================= Square Circle Triangle lock X Left Stick Right Stick Start Select D-pad L1 Weapons and L2 L3 R1 R2 R3 L3+R3 Fire Weapon 1 Melee Lock-on; once locked-on, press and hold triangle to disengage Toggles dash on or off Move the unit Move the camera Pause the game Non-functioning Switch from zoomed map to field map Toggles the other weapons; this disables the use of the other button functions so that you can fire your other weapons. 2-7 (if applicable) go from square, circle, triangle, x, R1, R2 respectively. Combination Attack Used only in conjuction with R3 Ascend Descend Centers camera behind unit Unit specific function

Too bad I don't feel like doing the fun part right now. I'll just put down all the secret requirements for now. I'll probably do this when I've upgraded all the units, which shouldn't be too long now since I've done the vast majority of them. It's all basically the same anyway; either blow everything up that's blinking, or protect your ship from blinking enemies. Secret Requirements =================== 1 - Your unit receives less than 100 damage. 2 - Nadesico B receives less than 20% damage.

3 - Blood Ark receives more than 90% damage. 4 - Freedan receives less than 20% damage. 5 - Take over all bases within 150 seconds. 6 - Destroy 100 enemies. 7 - Destroy all Metalbeasts. 8 - Destroy all the PoD enemies. 9A - The cannon does not fire once. 9B - Clear the mission with Gekko having more than 40% AP. 10A - Evade all Gravity Blasts. 10B - None of the transport ships reach the Warning Zone. 11A - The Gekko does not divert from its path. 11B - Take over all bases within 150 seconds. 12B - Discover the hidden Dominator 4 times, and force it to retreat. 13 - Destroy 30 Satellite Peashooters. 14 - Take over all bases within 420 seconds, with Friendly ships surviving. 15 - All friendly units must survlve. 16 - Destroy all turncoat Vultures. 17A - Force the Oukaou to turn Hyper within 30 seconds. 17B - Take over all bases within 300 seconds. 18A - Destroy all ships. 18B - Clear all Jamming fields. 19A - Take over all bases. 19B - Take out both Frost brothers. 20 - Take over all bases within 100 seconds. 21 - Dodge all Shin Dragon's attacks. 22 - Destroy 8 Leader units. 23 - Clear all fields within 240 seconds. 24 - Do not attack the G-Bits. 25 - Clear all fields. 26 - Receive less than 100 damage, and the Gekko must receive less than 50% damage.

27 - Friendly units' total damage must be below 25%. 28 - Receive less than 3000 damage. 29 - Receive less than 2000 damage. =========================================================================== ==== Units =========================================================================== ==== I'll finish the combos and explanations once people tell me what they are/I find them out myself.
