Quarterly Newsletter - Winter Edition 2012 Who Are We/Mission: We are a student led non-profit charitable organization that helps to improve the lives of orphans worldwide and eliminate illiteracy globally by raising funds, awareness, and thinking of innovative solutions to help disadvantaged individuals. Completed Projects Honduras On October 14th, 2011, a special advisor to Students Helping Orphans Worldwide (S.H.O.W) visited an orphanage in Honduras called 'El Hogar', Spanish for The Home. Founded in 1979, El Hogar gives some 250 Honduran children a loving Christian home and teaches them in its three centres. Upon graduation, the students enter a middle school program where they continue their studies and growth. From there, the boys can choose to become licensed carpenters, welders, or electricians. The girls are housed in a separate location and are provided with education and vocational training in areas of employment for young women in Honduras. We at S.H.O.W donated $2,200 (HNL) for the care and well being of the orphans residing there.
