SCHEDULE OF PROPOSED EXERCISES FOR THE WHOLE SEMESTER

PREAMBLE:
The main objective of the proposal is to have a well established hospital bringing a much-needed health diagnostic and treatment facility to the people.

BENEFITS:
The present proposal shall be directly benefited by the population of the GHAZIABAD as well as all the nearby towns and villages within the district and outside too.

DESIGN:
The hospital Building is envisaged to provide efficient circulation and adequate and proper Lighting creating a conducive and peaceful environment.

MAJOR COMPONENTS OF PHYSICAL DESIGN AREAS ARE:


Coordinate all elements of design to create functionally and aesthetically Pleasing,healing environment to fulfill the total need of the user The design should be flexible just because of technological nature of healthcare department. According to changing patient populations and changing patient needs; Spaces should be planned such that can be expanded or shrunk as needed. Flexible design means creating facilities- that can be economical, more open, and more easily, quickly renovated and redesigned. Physical comfort and way finding should be kept in mind while designing the places Implement safety and security recommendations

Vertical arrangement within a hospital should be designed so that the functional areas:-care, treatment, supply and disposal, patients, service yard, stores, medical services can be connected and planning becomes more efficient. Location of the building should be convenient in relation to the people to serve. Circulation- entrance and circulation within the building must consider wheelchair users, parents with small children and people with disabilities Privacy is required within, public zone, clinical zone and staff zone. Planning of spaces should be according to the necessity. There should be a relation between the entrance and parking spaces. External and internal routes must not overlap with routes used by the care and treatment areas. Planning of the whole building should consider- local circumstances, design guides, car parking spaces, main entrance, reception areas, record storage, administration and office base, waiting areas, consulting examination rooms, treatment rooms, minor surgery spaces, multipurpose rooms, out patients department, educational department.

LIBRARY / NET STUDY


All the inter relationships within the critical areas in an hospital should be analysed and reported in the form on flowcharts. Also the area statements of the spaces shall be jotted down. Net study comprises of the Ghaziabad byelaws and the hospital standards Each group (two students each) is required to submit a completed and well compiled report duly bound in the form of documented report. A full fledge presentation of each report will be conducted in front of subject faculty members and class students. This will be followed by formulation of project functional requirements with the open-ended participation of students perceptions.

SITE ANALYSIS
ANALYSIS OF SITE HAS TO BE UNDERTAKEN AT TWO LEVELS: LEVEL-1
a) Micro-Level analysis needs to be addressed to identifying the design and landscape assets that may be incorporated in the physical and environmental design at the site level. b) Undertaking the site drainage possibilities as an asset or a liability. c) To evaluate these assets (tangible/intangible)as potential resourse for design decision making LEVEL-II Macro-Level analysis needs to be addressed to identifying the design, landscape, built structures and their unique qualities that can have bearing on visual-focal appreciation impulse. In both of the levels I & II above, it will be desirable to train the visual experience through the phenomenon of focusing on assets through the telescopic behavior of eye views within the visual-cone fields. Site slope study to be recorded on site Site sewage drainage possibilities to be identified and marked on site Make a list of landscape resources, particulars for trees, shrubs, hedges, creepers, grasses typical to the area.

After completing the analysis, each student is required to submit a completed and well compiled site analysis sheet

CASE STUDY
Students will be taken to a live project to a nearby hospital for the doubt free study of the hospital.This will help them to have a clear view of the interrelationships of the critical spaces, spatial requirements, circulation, services, etc. A documented report comprising of the above mentioned studies with the each floor plans will be submitted by the students.

DESIGN CONCEPTUALIZATION
To prepare an appropriate set of planning and design requirement To make conceptual design and site planning ideas for finalizing the design project with the help of Plans, elevations ,sections, site planning and spot views to highlight the merits of the design approach and supporting rationale.
