ROUNDUP
Miss. Valley st. 58, southern 53: Paul Crosby scored 23 points and grabbed 15 rebounds and Terrence Joyner had a big second half to lead Mississippi Valley State over Southern for its 13th straight win. The Delta Devils (14-11, 13-0 SWAC) outscored Southern 35-30 in the second half behind 13 of Joyners 14 points. Cameron Monroe led Southern with 15 points. Morehouse 83, tuskegee 77: Andrae Nelson hit 14-of-20 shots most of them dunks for 31 points. He combined that with 10 rebounds, four assists, two blocks and a steal, for his best game ever as a Maroon Tiger. Shawn Allen had 28 points and eight rebounds, for his best scoring of the season. Allen hit 9-of-14 shots from the field and 10of-14 from the line. Calvin Thomas, who hit 10-of-20 shots, including 6-of-10 from beyond the arc, led Tuskegee with 29 points. Derrick White had a game-high 14 rebounds for Tuskegee who fell to 19-9 (13-7 SIAC). xAvIer 67 TougAloo 61: It was the final game at The Barn, a 1,300-seat gymnasium which opened in 1937, for the Gold Rush (19-7 overall, 8-3 GCAC). Xavier will play next season in a 4,500-seat facility which still is under construction. Xavier, ranked 25th in NAIA Division I, snapped the 11-game win streak of the 18thranked Bulldogs (19-6, 10-2) and prevented them from clinching the GCAC regular-season championship. Anthony Simmons scored 13 points for the Gold Rush, and Chris Iles had 11, including three 3-pointers. Jamaan Kenner and Denzell Erves scored nine points apiece, and Erves grabbed 10 rebounds, Marquise Mems scored 21 points, Juan Gray 12 and Kadon Day 10 for Tougaloo, which had won eight of its past 10 meetings with Xavier. James Carter grabbed 10 rebounds.
Sophomore guard Jeremy Underwood had 11 points in the Aggies loss on Monday.
line is we missed too many layups and free throws in the clutch. Hill and Jeremy Underwood led the Aggies (11-16, 6-6) with 11 points apiece. Hassan, Smith and Jyles Smith combined for 11 of the Tigers 16 offensive rebounds. The Tigers (16-10, 9-2) 16 offensive boards led to a 17-4 Savannah State advantage in second chance points. Thats what they do, said Eaves about the Tigers ability to grab offensive boards. Theyre persistent around the basket. We did not play very well, and were going to have to find a way to just keep our energy level at the level it needs to be. Rebounding is nothing more than effort, Eaves continued. They werent bigger than us by any stretch of the imagination. They were just more active. They were running
more. Were just going to continue to practice on blocking out. The Aggies trailed by 10 in the first half before the Hill scored the next four points, including a jumper in the lane, to cut the Tigers halftime lead to 32-26. The Aggies turned the ball over a season-low six times. Their pressure just forced us out of our offense a little bit too much, said Hill. They kept the ball out the point guards hands most of the time with the press, so we had to start the offense with our 2 or 3 guards. It didnt affect us that much, but most of our shots werent falling today. We have plays for everything, so (their press) really didnt bother us. We missed too many layups. ncataggies.com

I thought we came up with a very good game plan Our girls came out enthused. Those two players (Doyle and Holmes) hurt us in transition. Howards the number two team in the conference. Give them credit. They did a good job down the stretch.

BALLIN! Talladega has won 8 straight. Langston and Coppin State have won 7 in a row. As impressive as those streaks are, Shaw has won 13 of its last 14 and Stillman have tallied up 14 wins in their last 15 contest. Dont sleep, Ft. Valley State, Florida A&M, Hampton, Howard, Mississippi Valley State, Southern-New Orleans and Xavier are playing well too.
WHOS NOT
MAKE IT STOOOOOOP!! The Bulldogs of Fisk have dropped 11 straight. Alcorn State have lost 8 in a row. In their first year in the MEAC, North Carolina Central are in the bottom of the conference and have lost 6 straight. At least Lane and Huston-Tillotson have won a game. Sadly, the Lady Dragons have gone 1 of 17 in their last 18 and the Lady Rams are one of their last 10.

McDonalds and Coca-Cola Partner with CIAA for Unprecedented in-store Promotion
Hampton, VaThe Central Intercollegiate Athletic Association (CIAA) is proud to announce an unprecedented in-store commemorative cup promotion with McDonalds, an official partner of the CIAA since 2005, and long-time official partner, CocaCola to celebrate the CIAAs 100th Anniversary in Charlotte, N.C. on February 28 March 4, 2012. The CIAA, its Board of Directors, member institutions, alumni, students and fans are proud to have the support of McDonalds and Coca-Cola in celebrating our 100th anniversary, says Chairman of the CIAA Board of Directors - Dr. Mickey Burnim. This is a great time for the CIAA as we celebrate 100 years of history and success. This part-
nership not only raises the awareness of the CIAA, but it also showcases the strength of our brand. The CIAA commemorative cup promotion will begin on February 1 and conclude on February 29. Over 12 million keepsake commemorative cups will be produced featuring the official CIAA 100th anniversary logo, McDonalds and Coca-Colas logos and the tagline Come Celebrate 100 years of history. The promotion will encompass 681 McDonalds restaurant locations in three regions in the Mid-Atlantic. Those markets include Washington, DC; Richmond, VA; Tidewater (VA) area; Charlotte, NC; Raleigh, NC; Atlanta, GA; Chattanooga, TN; Columbus, GA, and Augusta, GA.
McDonalds and Coca-Cola are terrific partners of the CIAA. Both companies stepped up their activations this year, and this is one of the most significant and visible aspects of the successful partnership, stated Micah Fuller, senior vice president at Urban Sports & Entertainment Group (USEG). They are arguably two of the most recognized brands in sports whove come together to help celebrate the CIAAs 100th anniversary. This shows the power of the CIAA brand. USEG negotiated the partnership between McDonalds, Coca-Cola and the CIAA Conference. theciaa.com
Last season we were more competitive than we have been in awhile. We just need to continue to build upon that success This is a very exciting time for me as a coach.
