WELCOME...

Hot off the Press we are delighted to announce the first show for UK City of
Culture 2013 STARLIGHT EXPRESS. Coming to our venue in January 2013,
this futuristic tale about love and hope in the face of adversity promises two
hours of speed, spectacle, energy and turbo charged excitement to the
backdrop of some of Andrew Lloyd Webbers most memorable musical hits.

Theres lots of music to open the season with, firstly, the return of IRELANDS
SHOWBANDS; the Ulster Orchestra who carries on its tradition of the NEW
YEAR VIENNESE CONCERT and we look forward to another Opera from NI
Opera with HANSEL & GRETEL.

Comedy this season comes from CONAL GALLEN in January; while, also in the
same month, FATHER TED & CO. promises a unique and interactive comedy
dining experience, which brings the audience face to face with this trio of
famous priests and manically devoted housekeeper! WILLIAM CAULFIELD
promises another evening of laughs in February, while DARA OBRIAIN joins
us in March.

Straight from the West End, GREASE is here in February featuring X Factor
singing sensation, Mary Byrne. Willy Russells BLOOD BROTHERS returns in
April with its superb score including Marilyn Monroe and the emotionally
charged hit Tell Me Its Not True.
The hilarious GIRLS NIGHT THE MUSICAL is back in February while Irene
Melaughs THE DUMPED DIVORCEEs SUPPORT GROUP returns in March.

We are proud to announce Frank McGuinness CARTHAGINIANS this season.

The play is widely regarded as an elegy for Bloody Sunday and, with 2012
commemorating the 40th anniversary of Bloody Sunday, it is important that
this home grown Millennium Forum production will tour extensively
throughout Ireland. The show is directed by acclaimed director and actor,
Adrian Dunbar.

For children this season we have two wonderful shows: the magical A SPELL
OF COLD WEATHER, directed by Paul Bosco McEneaney and the globally
known SESAME STREET LIVE: ELMO MAKES MUSIC! a much anticipated first
for our venue.

Remember to look out for our new offers in our award winning restaurant,
Encore Brasserie there are some great packages available this season to
ensure you enjoy a night out at our venue at a competitive price.

We have a wide range of shows to take us into Spring and were excitedly
looking forward to our brand new season!

With anticipation gathering pace and

programming now well underway, City of
Culture 2013 is now becoming a very real
opportunity for the city, and the possibilities
for local communities, businesses, artists and
organisations are emerging with increasing
momentum. The Millennium Forum launches
2012 with a season that is right at the heart of
both culture and community participation.
Some firm favourites will bring both
showbands and waltzes to stage in the new
year. Season highlights will include some of
our most enduring and popular stage musicals
including the nature or nurture drama of Willy
Russells Blood Brothers, and a treat for those
of us hopelessly devoted to the Danny and
Sandy love story, as the leather jackets and
bobby socks take to the stage in Grease.
In celebration of our 10th anniversary and
commemorating the 40th anniversary of
Bloody Sunday, Adrian Dunbar will direct
Frank McGuinness Carthaginians, sure to be a
memorable highlight of another packed and
diverse season.

With the restoration of our branch in

Shipquay Place now complete, Northern Bank
is delighted to continue its partnership with
the Millennium Forum as part of our
commitment to Derry~Londonderry.

Our colleagues at the Millennium Forum have

created a great programme to start 2012, and
we look forward to seeing you there.

Frank McGuinness CARTHAGINIANS has often been acknowledged as one of the few enduring plays to have
emerged from The Troubles. An elegy for Bloody Sunday in Derry, it is the survival of tragedy, of intense
grief which becomes the unspoken subject through the personal journeys of three women and three men
who camp out in a graveyard awaiting the rise of the dead. Dido is the outsider who brings daily pram loads
of supplies including a script of his own attempt at a Troubles Play, The Burning Balaclava;
the comic centrepiece which is surrounded by jokes, quizzes and encounters
which pass the time of waiting. Individual resurrections signal a community,
like Carthage, rising from its ashes.

THE DUMPED DIVORCEES

SUPPORT GROUP
by Irene Melaugh

CORPORATE
DISCOUNTS

Its real, unforgettable and very, very funny.

Rosie, Maura and Eileen are dumped by their husbands

for younger models. Stunned, Maura goes on a six-month
pub-crawl, skinning her knees as she chases after toy
boys, while Eileen starts a nine day roll-over novena to
any saint that might be listening. Rosie, however, sensible
as always, talks them into starting a support group.
However, the first meeting of The Dumped Divorcee
Support Group brings some very funny eccentric
characters to their door! Ladies - come along for support.
Gents - come along for the craic.

Trickman a puck-like fairy who explains to Holly how
the two farmers have forgotten how to sing, dance and
play games. Together, Holly and Tomos bring the farm
back to life and create some seasonal cheer, just in time
to ring in the New Year with an unforgettably magical

BRENDAN GRACE

It's a funny old world when seen through the eyes of

Brendan Grace! The sanctimonious priest who knows
more than he's telling: ''Blessed is he who gets married in
the nick of time''; the father of the bride who makes a
speech at his daughters wedding: ''She could have
married someone with money; she could have married
someone who was working. She could have married
someone who wasn't working but was willing to work!''
Then there's the schoolboy with the unspeakable
personal habits and a fine line in sympathy pleas.
Brendan Grace is all of these and more. His material
owes much to the best of the traditional stand-up comics
and his show is very much a show for all the family.
There will be an opportunity for post-show photos and a
'meet and greet' from this down-to-earth comedian.
