Acknowledgement
The industrial trip of our BBA 2nd year was to the Bisleri international ltd. Located at Ghaziabad on the 28th March, 2011 as planned by our honorable director Dr. SACHIN S. VARNEKAR without whom this industrial visit would not have been possible. I express sincere thanks to Prof. PARUL AGGARWAL who told us before what we have to observe during the industrial visit. I would like to thanks Ms. HIMANI and Ms. APARNA MARWAH who accompanied us during the industrial visit and helped us with their valuable suggestion and thoughts during the industrial visit. The trip was a great eye opener to our batch. After witnessing the processes and co ordination of the various processes, students realized how Operations play a significant part in the manufacturing and production sectors. Our lot of queries and doubts were cleared up after this interactive-learning session.

About company
Mineral Water under the name 'Bisleri' was first introduced in Mumbai in glass bottles in two varieties - bubbly & still in 1965 by Bisleri Ltd., a company of Italian origin. This company was started by Signor Felecia Bisleri who first brought the idea of selling bottled water in India. Parle bought over Bisleri (India) Ltd. In 1969 & started bottling Mineral water in glass bottles under the brand name 'Bisleri'. Later Parle switched over to PVC non-returnable bottles & finally advanced to PET containers. Bisleri company value their customers & therefore have developed 8 unique pack sizes to suit the need of every individual. They at present have 50ml cups, 250ml bottles, 500ml, 1L, 1.5L, 2L which are the non-returnable packs & 5L, 20L which are the returnable packs. Till date the Indian consumer has been offered Bisleri water, however in their effort to bring to consumers something refreshingly new, they have introduced Bisleri Natural Mountain Water water brought to you from the foothills of the mountains situated in Himachal Pradesh. & stringent quality controls has made us a market leader in the bottled water segment. Strict hygiene conditions are maintained in all plants.
Bisleri with added minerals is also put through multiple stages of purification to ensure the elimination of all forms of bacteria. This makes the water you drink completely safe to consume. Bisleri with added minerals is available in 250ml cups, 250ml bottles, 500ml bottles, 1 liter bottles, 1.5 liters bottles, 2 liters bottles and 5 and 20 liters cans.

PLANT LAYOUT
The subject plant layout refers to the arrangement of machinery, equipment and other industrial facilities such as receiving and shipping departments, tool rooms, maintenance rooms and employee amenities for the purpose of achieving the quickest and smoothest production at the least cost. Bisleri plant at Ghaziabad has two different plants where the complete production takes place. In the one plant the cap and the bottle performs are manufactured and the other plant has the place for performs to be blown into bottles and the filling of the bottles is done. This building also has the purification process of the water which has to be filled. An ideal plant location may not be enough by itself to ensure the success of the enterprise but it surely ensures the smooth running of a factory and makes it efficient a bad location on the other hand is severe handicap and it is very and may finally bankrupt the organisation. The need for selection of the location may arise when a business is started or for the purpose of expansion or for opening branches etc.
( C) Capital assets : - Bisleri has got 14 injection moulding machines, 2 automatic blow moulding machines and 4 semi automatic blow moulding machines. It has also got 2 plants located side by side for production purposes.

REVERSE OSMOSIS: This stage of reserve osmosis system controls and dissolves the leftover Particles and it converts hard water into soft water. MICRON FILTERATION: Under this stage of micro filtration additional safety measures are taken to guarantee purity of water. ADDED MINERALS: In this stage addition of mineral magnesium sulphate and potassium bicarbonate is processed. FINAL OZONISATION: The ozone treatment increases the shelf life of water. To ensure mineral water is held safe free from contamination, ultraviolet treatment and ozonisation process is carried out. Ozone is unstable trivalent oxygen, a very powerful bactericide with no side effect, as it disintegrates into oxygen within couple of hours. Sterilization effect of ozonized water continues even after water is packaged, thereby ensuring safety of Mineral Water up to its final packing. To ensure high quality of packing materials, components like caps and bottles are manufactured in-house from resins of quality suppliers.
FINAL PRODUCT: After going through all the departments like filling department, blowing, ,grinding department the bottle is finally ready and it moves to the packaging department.
OUTPUT:
The final output of the whole manufacturing process is the clean pure drinking water in the bottles of different sizes according to the needs of the consumer.

OBSERVATIONS/SUGGESTIONS
Bisleri Company is very quality conscious. Quality is checked before the actual production process starts. Maintenance is done on regular basis. Employees or workers wear caps to protect their head. To drive inside the campus vehicle speed limit should be 10Km/ ph Bisleri water is provided to the employees for drinking purpose. Bisleri is the first company to increase its products in packaged drinking water ranging from 500ml to 20 ltrs. Bisleri should introduce new packaging of bottle. Workers should be provided with mouth pieces to ensure hygiene during production Proper storage of scrap Have more systematic approach towards security of the plant. Value added flavoured water like natural ayurvedic can also be added. Fruit flavoured water can also be launched.
