1.1.1 Alenia Aereonautica The Alenia Aeronautica mission is to conceive, design, build and certify military and commercial aircraft and mission systems, including the rapidly growing field of unmanned air vehicles.

1.1.4 ATR France, Toulouse-based regional aircraft manufacturer ATR is the world leader in the 50 to 70-seat turboprop market. 1.1.5 Aerospace : Aeronautics Global Aeronautica

Global Aeronautica is a 50/50 joint venture of Alenia North America, Inc., a Finmeccanica company, and Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. Global Aeronautica will assemble, integrate, test and apply surface finishes to more than 60 percent of the 787 fuselage prior to shipment to Boeing's final assembly facility in Everett, Washington Global Aeronautica is located in North Charleston, South Carolina. At peak production, Global Aeronautica will employ approximately 450 people in a 334,000square-foot facility built on a 240-acre site adjacent to Charleston International Airport and includes 252,000 square feet of manufacturing floor. In addition, the site will include a 54,000-square-foot surface finishes building. Global Aeronautica will receive mid-fuselage sections from an international supply chain including Alenia Aeronautica S.p.A of Italy, Fuji Heavy Industries and Kawasaki Heavy Industries of Japan and Boeing Winnipeg. 1.1.6 Aerospace : Aeronautics GMAS (Global Military Aircraft Systems)

GMAS (Global Military Aircraft Systems), is a joint venture between L-3 Integrated Systems (an L-3 Communications subsidiary), and Alenia North America, Inc. (a Finmeccanica Company). Under the Joint Venture agreement, L-3 Integrated Systems and Alenia North America jointly manage GMAS. GMAS will serve as the center of excellence for support of the C-27J in North America. GMAS is responsible for the long term logistics support and unique modifications to the C-27J for North American customers. GMAS is headquartered in Huntsville, Alabama.

1.2 Products:
1.2.1 C27J Spartan - Alenia Aeronautica

Conceived for the military role since its original design, the C-27J Spartan is the unique true tactical airlifter in its class. Its ruggedness, survivability in hostile environments, reliability and maneuverability are unmatched. With the widest cargo hold in its category, the Spartan carries over 11 tons and operates easily from short and rough airstrips in remote areas, without external support. Sharing the glass-cockpit, engines and propellers with the C-130J, it is fully interoperable with it and other military transports. Already ordered by Italy and Greece and selected by Bulgaria.

1.2.2 Eurofighter Typhoon - Alenia Aeronautica The most advanced combat aircraft ever developed in Europe. Alenia Aeronautica has a 19.5% work share in the Typhoon, now in service with the Italian, UK, German and Spanish air forces and also ordered by Austria and selected by Greece. Alenia Aeronautica is in charge of final assembly for the 121 Italian aircraft. Its responsibilities include the design and manufacturing of left wing, rear fuselage, wing pylons and the System Design of the navigation, armament, utility control, propulsion, secondary power systems for all aircraft.

1.2.3 Boeing 787 - Alenia Aeronautica Alenia Aeronautica participates as risk sharing partner in the realisation of the 787 Dreamliner, the new Boeing commercial aircraft for the middle of the market. It will be the most advanced airliner in its class setting new standards for airlines efficiency. Thanks to its experience in advanced materials and manufacturing and assembly techniques Alenia Aeronautica will develop and manufacture two sections of the center-rear fuselage and the horizontal stabiliser for the B787. In the new facility of Grottaglie (near Taranto) will be accomodated an innovative automated line for the fabrication and assembly of the two fuselage sections, built as "one-piece"380 barrels. Alenia Aeronautica, in the frame of the B787 program, is building with Vought a pre-integration facility in Charleston (South Carolina, US) for the assembly of the fuselage sections.

1.2.4 Boeing KC-767 Tanker - Alenia Aeronautica The Boeing KC-767 is the low-risk solution that brings to bear the unique capabilities of the world leaders in tanker design and integration: The Boeing

Company and Alenia Aeronautica/Aeronavali who, together, have almost 2,000 new production tankers and tanker modifications to their credit. The new KC-767 combines the demonstrated performance of the 767 commercial transport with proven, fully integrated tanker systems. 1.2.5 Airbus 380 - Alenia Aeronautica Alenia Aeronautica participates as risk sharing partner in the new A380, the world's largest commercial aircraft and the only twin-deck, four aisle airliner. Thanks to its full engineering capabilities, the company designed and manufactures a fully fitted section of the central fuselage as well as related engineering work. The participation of Alenia Aeronautica in this Airbus programme accounts for 4% of the airframe, the highest level of participation of a European company apart from Airbus shareholders. In detail, the section - overall width 7 metres, length 23 metres, height almost 9 metres and weighing about 10 tons - is subdivided into six components (lower front, upper, 2 lateral, floor structure, rear). The work of fitting out the section involves installation of air conditioning, humidification and thermoacoustic systems.

1.2.6 ATR 42 MP Surveyor - Alenia Aeronautica The technological response to evolving maritime surveillance. Its primary roles are: Vessel Search, Identification and Surveillance, Maritime and Coastal Surveillance, Search and Rescue (SAR), Pollution Detection. Secondary roles such as: Troop/Paratroop transport, Medical evacuation, Passenger transport, Cargo transport. Based on a platform proven by over 670 ATR aircraft sold world-wide and equipped with the latest ATOS Mission Management System developed by Galileo Avionic. Already in service with Italian Customs Police and Coast Guard.

1.2.7 ATR 72 ASW - Alenia Aeronautica In the new naval warfare scenario, the ATR 72 ASW represents the most affordable solution to fulfill the Anti-Submarine Warfare role. The ATR 72 ASW integrates a tactical, patrol and surveillance mission system with sensors like a search radar, an acoustic system with sonobuoy launcher, an electro-optic system, a Magnetic Anomaly Detector (MAD), a self protection system including Electronic Support Measures (ESM), Missile Warning System (MWS), chaff and flare dispensers and an armament system with four underfuselage pylons for depth

charges, torpedoes and antiship missiles. It will provide Customers with complete mission capability and versatility to search for, detect, identify, track, and on command, attack both submarines and surface targets. The ATR 72 ASW has recently been selected by the Turkish Government to supply ten aircraft to the Turkish Navy

1.2.8 Sky-X - Alenia Aeronautica An Alenia Aeronautica UAV programme dedicated to the development and demonstration of key technologies in the field of UCAV and URAV systems, even if, due to its flexibility, it can be a useful demonstrator also for dual use or civil applications. The Sky-X was flown for the first time in May 2005. The Sky-X is about 7 metres long and has a wing span of almost 6 metres. It can carry a technological pay-load of 200 kg with a maximum take-off weight of 1100 kg. The data and experience acquired through the Sky-X research program will increase Alenia Aeronautica's technological know-how, also in view of industrial agreement for the Italian participation in the European programme "Neuron", joined so far by six countries: France, Greece, Italy, Spain, Sweden and Switzerland.

1.2.9 M 346 - Alenia Aermacchi The Aermacchi M-346 is the new generation dedicated Advanced and Lead-In Fighter Trainer, designed to be superior to all existing products in its class.

High thrust to weight ratio approaching 1 to 1, vortex-lift aerodynamics and reprogrammable, full authority, quadruplex fly-by-wire flight control system, give the M-346 flying qualities close to modern frontline fighters and improve its teaching effectiveness. The twin engine solution provides high safety standards, and the design philosophy reduces acquisition and operational costs. The M-346 is the ideal platform for next generation Integrated Training Systems.

1.2.10 M 311 - Alenia Aermacchi The M-311 is the Alenia Aermacchi fast jet trainer for the basic/advanced phase of the pilot training syllabus.

The aircraft is equipped with refined aerodynamic configuration, completely new avionics suite, powerful yet fuel efficient turbofan engine and new maintenance concept. The M-311 offers a significant reduction in acquisition and life-cycle costs similar to the high power turboprops and it is the most effective solution in the market for basic/advanced military trainers.

1.2.11 MB 339 - Alenia Aermacchi The MB-339 is a fully aerobatic, tandem two-seat, single-turbojet advanced/LIFT trainer.

The MB-339 is in service with nine different nations and it is one of the most successful products in the Alenia Aermacchi portfolio. With its proven ability to match the performance levels, and particularly the manoeuvrability, of operational aircraft, the MB-339 is perfectly suited to teach pilots weapon system management in a high-performance environment. Its latest MB-339CD version is equipped with state-of-the-art avionics including HUD and three MFD in both front and rear cockpits. A customised version (MB-339 PAN) is operated by the Italian Air Force aerobatic team, the famous "Frecce Tricolori".

1.2.12 SF 260 - Alenia Aermacchi The SF-260 is the world's most successful modern screener and primary trainer.

The SF-260 is a fully aerobatic, two seat side-by-side propeller-driven aircraft, with additional third seat to expand its flexibility in non-aerobatic missions. It is available in both piston-engined and turboprop variants, respectively powered by a 260 hp Lycoming AEIO-540 (SF-260E) or a 350 shp Rolls-Royce/Allison Model 250 B-17D turboprop (SF-260TP). Twenty-seven military customers have already bought 880 SF-260 in all variants and the worldwide SF-260 fleet has accumulated over 1,900,000 flight hours.

3.1.2 Telespazio Telespazio, a joint venture between Finmeccanica (67%) and Thales (33%), is among the chief world operators in the management of satellites and in services involving earth observation, satellite navigation, integrated networks for multimedia telecommunications, integrated connectivity and added value.

3.2 Products:
3.2.1 Satellite Operations and Programs Development Telespazio is one of the world's leading companies in the field of providing services for space vehicles.

The company's expertise covers all aspects of satellite management ranging from the Launch and Early Orbit Phase (LEOP) to the entire life cycle. With nearly forty years of experience, Telespazio is able to meet all operating requirements through its global network of integrated ground stations. The company has been providing satellite services to the main international operators in the space sector, both public and private, since 1968. 3.2.2 Navigation and Infomobility - Telespazio Telespazio is Finmeccanica's reference operator for value-added services relating to navigation and positioning. The company is taking part in the development of the European satellite navigation programme GALILEO which involves launching a constellation of 30 satellites by the end of 2010.

For this project, Telespazio will set up two Control Centres (one for the constellation, the other for the mission) at the Fucino Space Centre, as well as one of the two Signal Performance Evaluation Centres, located near Rome. Telespazio is also the project leader in Italy for setting up the Galileo Test Range (GTR) - a technological infrastructure for validating the GALILEO signal and developing new applications.

Concerning Cosmo-SkyMed programme, Telespazio has the responsibility to develop the ground infrastructures, to manage the operations during the deploiment of the full satellite constellation, to receive and process the observed data, to develop and distribute products and innovative applications. 3.2.4 Network and Connectivity - Telespazio Telespazio designs, builds and manages multimedia telecommunications networks in broad band, combining infrastructures and technologies in order to provide global coverage for its customers, both institutional or business. The services offered range from e-learning to e-government, and from emergency communications to telemedicine.

Through SkyplexNet, a platform for interactive broad-band satellite communications, Telespazio has created a network which is used by civil protection departments, fire brigades and police forces. The company is also experimenting with an innovative communication service on board European high-speed trains, as part of the information highway. Telespazio also builds and manages equipment for transmitting, distributing and carrying TV signals via satellite for the main broadcasters worldwide, providing a wide range of radio and TV channels via satellite, in an area covering Europe, the Mediterranean basin and the Middle East. Thales Alenia Space is prime contractor for the construction, testing and in-orbit verification of the GOCE satellite. It is scheduled for launch in 2006.

3.2.9 Cosmo SkyMed - Thales Alenia Space The COSMO-SkyMed satellite constellation is a low-orbit dual-use Earth observation satellite system operating in the X-band. Funded by the Italian Ministry of Research and Ministry of Defence the programme is managed by the Italian Space Agency and will exploit the most advanced remote sensing technology with the four SAR (Synthetic Aperture Radar) satellites and a complex and geographically distributed Ground Segment. ID-Pocket was developed to enable logical access to information systems using encoded smart cards and biometric recognition of its holder. The device also makes it possible to sign a 'digital electronic signature' on documents and/or e-mail messages, as well as the Smart-Card Logon within the network, for all terminals linked at the Enterprise Network level. The device also enables the signing-up of new system users, by storing biometric data within the smart cards. 5.2.5 Marte - MBDA Marte is a medium-range anti-ship missile designed for the new generation of naval anti-surface warfare helicopters employed to support maritime operations in littoral as well as in complex blue water scenarios.

5.2.6 Aster 30 - MBDA The ASTER family of vertically launched missiles is being developed by MBDA within the Franco-Italian FSAF programme. Aster 30 will feature in a family of air defence systems for the armed forces of both countries as well as for the UK Royal Navy.

5.2.7 Meteor - MBDA Meteor will meet the requirements of six European nations for a superior Beyond Visual Range air-to-air missile system to excel in all future combat scenarios and capable of being integrated on Europes major platforms, Eurofighter Typhoon, Gripen and Rafale.

5.2.8 PUMA - Oto Melara The PUMA 4x4 and 6x6 are light wheeled Armoured Fighting Vehicles suitable for combat roles such as reconnaissance, including NBC, and anti-tank.

5.2.9 CENTAURO The 8x8 CENTAURO AFV is a highly mobile and protected vehicle that combines the firepower of a main battle tank, being able to fire NATO tank ammunition, with the speed and agility of a wheeled vehicle.

The fire control system ensures hunter-killer capability, incorporating laser range finder and thermal camera. Stabilisation provides an optimised exploitation of the system. The CENTAURO is also providing the basis for the development of a whole family of these vehicles in different versions capable to perform multiple tasks.

5.2.10 DARDO - Oto Melara The DARDO armored IFV has been designed to provide infantry support; its armament consists of a 25 mm gun plus two TOW launchers that allow suitable firepower, even against MBTs.

The transported infantry squad can easily and quickly mount into the vehicle or deploy on the ground thanks to its spacious rear ramp. The "6 vee" engine and the automatic transmission keep the DARDO at the same mobility level of MBTs with which it has to co-operate.

5.2.11 Hitfist 30mm - Oto Melara Two-man power-operated turret built with ballistic aluminum alloy and additional steel armour plates to reach the required protection level.

The main armament is a 3Omm automatic cannon, fully stabilized, electrically controlled and with digital Fire Control System. Feeding is through belted rounds housed in two ammunition containers. TOW anti-tank guided missiles are available as an option.
