Time Period Covered Date From: 02/12/12 To: 02/19/12 Summary of Incidents: Date 02/12/12 Day Sun Time 1543 Details: Suspicious Person/Activity An employer reported that an employee had received an e-mail requesting $15,000 to ensure the employees safety. An officer advised that the message was clearly spam. Domestic Disturbance A woman asked for help removing her ex-husband, who had outstayed his welcome, from her residence. Officers contacted the man and helped him arrange alternative lodging until such time as he was able to depart the island. Public Safety Caller reported a man and his dog walking on the lake. An officer responded and the man told the officer he and his dog were fine. Welfare Check An officer responding to a report of an inebriate passed out in the airport found an exhausted but not intoxicated man who said he had been working very long hours for the past two weeks. A friend arrived to take the tuckered fellow back to his vessel for the night. Security Check Request Facilities manager asked for additional patrols around a building which could not be properly locked this evening. Welfare Check After receiving information that a youth had sent some text messages that could be interpreted as suicidal, an officer contacted the youth and his parents. Investigation revealed the source of the youths messages was simply familial stress, which he had communicated to his friends in an inappropriate fashion. Burn Permit MVA Damage A driver who lost control of his vehicle while traversing an ice-covered section of curving road struck another vehicle in the oncoming lane of traffic. Environmental Littering pedestrian contacted. Drug Law Violation Marijuana and various pills confiscated from patient at the clinic and destroyed. Assistance Rendered Truck driver pulled partly of roadway fearing running out of diesel. Officer assisted by directing traffic while the truck proceeded to become stuck in snowbank and refueling was completed. Traffic Roads Rockslide reported to officer already involved in traffic control. Another officer responded and cleared the road.

Traffic Crime Weaving vehicle reported. Driver was found to be swerving around potholes. Traffic Crime Citations issued to vehicles parked in violation of posted signs at the airport.
