BlueCat Networks appliances provide a dedicated platform for mission-critical DNS, DHCP and IP Address Management. In addition, BlueCat Networks maintains the operating system and applications, removing the need for administrators to install, update and patch individual components. BlueCat Networks provides regular updates to customers, who now only need to track and install update information from one vendor. In addition to this, BlueCat Networks has made further efforts to secure the DNS, DHCP and IPAM appliances. The Adonis appliance includes a built-in firewall. DNS runs in a jailed environment to limit exposure, and all services are pre-configured with strong defaults for added security. BlueCat Networks also includes full DNSSEC support, including NSEC3, to both host and validate DNSSEC-enabled data. As part of BlueCat Networks software update program, organizations are kept up-to-date and current with the latest updates and security patches to ensure the most secure operating environment.
