The college delegates assembled at the Baguio Convention Center parking area as services ferried them to Maryheights where they will be accommodated. As they arrived at the new campus, the welcoming committee of the School of Accountancy and Business Management (SABM), cheered and greeted as the vans passed by. The representatives were assigned

It has been two years since the last CICM Friendship Meet was held. Participants have been chosen and venues have been changed, but the heart and soul of true Lousians and Marians are still one. University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao At 11:30 a.m., our friends from the University of Saint Louis Tuguegarao surprised the accommodators from the School of Education by arriving about two hours earlier than their expected time of arrival. According to the delegates, they enjoyed their twelve-hour trip to Baguio. The delegates were divided into groups and were assigned rooms at the Ladies and Mens dormitories. The USLT team being accommodated at the main campus is composed of elementary and high school students. Three grade six students, namely James Salazar, Jovani de Leon and Patrick
Adducal seemed unaffected by the drowsy spell of the mid-afternoon as they cheerfully cooperated with the staff writers for a brief interview. James and Jovani are both from the Folk Dance team, while Patrick belongs to the Quiz Bee team. They had no complaints about the arrangement for their lodging. In fact, they immediately warmed up to the friendly atmosphere that the Saint Louis University students exhibited to them. The same feedbacks were given by three fourth year high school students who are all part of their schools volleyball team, Krizelle Beran, Kenneth Deanne Reyes and Christine Buguina . Coming from a place where the temperature often reached 36-37 C, the volleyball players admitted that they will be having additional exercises to condition their bodies to the cold weather. All of the delegates,
despite the strenuous training and consecutive practices that they endured, were more ecstatic than pressured and obligated to win every competition. It was clear with the way they responded to our questions that they are here to foster friendship through healthy competition and not to deliberately intimidate the students from the other sister schools. We hope that their good spirits and great expectations would result to a truly fun-filled and wholesome week for everyone. of athleticism, will SLU be the ultimate survivor? Over the past CICM friendship meets, Saint Louis University delegates have been bringing home the highest honor from the multitude of events in the most prestigious gathering of CICM Schools, the CICM Friendship Meet. This year, Saint Louis University hosts this big event and, once and for all, will showcase the best of the Louisians of the North. It is anticipated, therefore, that these Louisian athletes will bring it on and exceed what they are expected of as they play for the community of Louisians imbued with Christian spirit. With long preparations and prudent planning, Administration and staff gears up the athletes for the ultimate battle of athletics, academics and performing arts. Saint Louis University heightens the enthusiasm in the whole Louisian community as it gauges its athletes to step up and set a
higher bar toward the victory that all schools are aimed at. SLU is all set to being the definitive holder of honor, victory and pride. Saint Louis College Cebu Saint Louis College Cebu (SLCC) delegates arrived at around 4:30 in the afternoon after an almost a whole-day travel. They shared with us their experience and insights about the meet and the upcoming tournament. Dell, one of the delegates of SLCC who will join the Cultural Competition said shes excited and also nervous because its her first time joining this event. Malamig was the expectation of Jenea, also one of the SLCC delegates. Napa-wow po ako, kasi andaming bundok sa mga dinaanan namin, she said when asked about her first impression on Baguio. Like Dell, it is also her first time in Baguio City. She added that they might be touring Baguio City after the meet when they win their competi-
As expected of the common image of Cebuanos, they are indeed malambing in the way they converse with people. Having taken much of their time while they are being ushered to their temporary sleeping quarters, we bid them good luck and God bless. Meet. Mighty Peralta (3rd year HS Taekwondo), Akiev Patanao (2nd year HS Taekwondo), and Tristan Querido (2nd year HS Taekwondo) quickly acclimated to Baguios cold weather mainly due to the similarity of it to Nueva Vizcayas usual weather patterns. These boys were humble enough to say that they would like to win but more importantly, to have fun and to be able to tour the city at the same time. The SMU delegates were also as accommodating as the other schools, and did not hesitate to oblige when interviewed. Surely the 8+ hours of travelling mountain after mountain took their toll on these youngsters since they looked like they would like to turn themselves in early, even before the dinner starts. The one thing commendable about them is that, they are respectful, fun loving, and have the same desire to be the best as emanated by all the other participating schools, a trait that proves to be invaluable when a person is faced with adversity.
The thrill of the chase is what keeps the competitors strive for more than what they are, and the CICM spirit has led the greats of each school reach grounds never stood on by the lay. Competition will bring out the best or worst in each others innards, and the only thing that makes the difference is how you see it.
tors, and laughing at how common our mishaps wherever we are. We had a lot of fun touring the school and watching teams grit their heart and soul into every competition, and still be as humble and as proud as CICM envisioned us to be in every win and loss acquired.
I was a senior that time, and I experienced first hand how hard SLC trained for events like this. We had classes from 7 AM -5 PM and had to practice our speech (I was in the speech choir that time) until 9pm for two weeks. I did not loathe the system back then but I never liked it per se. Somehow, the times I spent for this made me realize that this was WAR, a sophisticated battle between the schools to show off their prowess and to dominate what seems like
