A project was assigned by Dr. S.M. Naqi to create small business. A group of five members was formed which included Sherdil Dilawar , Hamza Arif, Naveed Afzal,Waqas Arshad and Muhammad Sajjad. First meeting was held in Liaqat Hall U.E.T Room No.56. Different ideas were generated and carefully analyzed. Decision was made to establish a brand of garments. Next step was to give a name to our brand. Various surveys were conducted of markets and after extensive search from net Ledge were selected as our brand name. Ledge means Sharp Edge . A market survey was conducted in order to check the requirements of shopkeepers and general public. Market included Pace Mall, Kareem Block, Iqbal Town and Kashmiri Ghati (Anarkali). Decision was made to design shirts and T-shirts. It was also decided that if a customer brings his own design, we shall work on it. Because everybody has its own choice and it is difficult to materialize its own idea. As a capital investment is needed to start a new business. Fund raising was a major issue. Different people including our friends were contacted. A few guys took interest in our project but were not willing to invest. Then we decided to start business with our own money. Two thousand rupees (Rs. 2000/=) were collected from each group member as a capital investment. Different designs were searched on net and few were made by our-selves. We consulted with one of our Graphic designer friend named Hamza Masood to design various T shirts. These designs were shown to our friends and university fellows. Initially we got an order for seven shirts. Designs were printed on the shirts and the final product (shirt) had a cost of Rs 550/= each. We sold these shirts for Rs 700/= each and thus earning a profit of Rs 150/= each shirt. To increase our customers an option was given to the customers to pay price in two installments but the price was increased to Rs 800/= on- each shirt.

Mean while university football league was going to start and the football teams required football kits. We contacted a football team Spartans and convinced them to make their football kits from us. Twenty three kits were ordered. Design was given by them. Each kit had a cost of Rs 1200/=. Fifty percent amount was taken in advance. We earned a profit of Rs 300/= on each kit. Ten kits had been delivered. Thirteen kits would be delivered next week. (Profit = 300*23= 6900/=) We visited Kashmiri ghati near Anarkali and it has two blocks and from its Punjab block we took different samples of cloth to show the customers that we have best quality here after getting order we purchased the cloth from here. They had cloth ranging from 50 to 100.Rs. We took the best in the quality. Then we contacted with Umer Chitta who has already designed different shirts named by the Brand Edge . Pace Mall, 3rd Floor, Gulberg. We gave him our cloth and design. He returned our order in 7 days. The shirts were according to our requirement. The total expenditure of cloth to make one shirt was 175 and Umer Chitta cost 325 per shirt for stitching and designing the prints. In order to ensure the quality of our product, we gave our customers money back guarantee till first wash
