Denbigh Presbyterian Pre-Kindergarten

February has been a busy month at DPPK. During the month, we talked of things we love, how to be a friend, and Valentines. February is also American Heart Month and Dental Health Month, so our 4 year olds were busy learning about keeping their bodies healthy. They had a special healthy snack and a visit from an orthopedic nurse. At the end of the month, a dental hygienist from Dr. Avents office will be visiting. We are looking forward to some other special visitors in the upcoming months! Registration for the 2012-2013 school year is underway, so please continue to pass our information along to your family, friends, and neighbors. If you know anyone who may be looking for a Pre-Kindergarten program and who would like to take a tour of the school, please have them call 757-898-1043 or stop by during our school hours. Our students donated 40 items to the DUCO food pantry during our School Spirit Chapel at the beginning of February. We were happy to have Rev. Dail back, but we would also like to thank Rusty Norton for filling in at our January chapel while Rev. Dail was in Haiti. Maggie Vincelette Director, DPPK

I am Jonah. I want to serve God as long as it is convenient. I desire to do His will until it is a tad uncomfortable. I want to hear His Word as long as its message is one Im supposed to pass on to someone else. I dont want to have my plans interrupted. Oh yes. I am Jonah, and I suspect that in one way or another, you are too. Monday nights from February 6 through March 19, 2012 from 6:30-8:30 PM The DVD #6 from the Womens Bible Study entitled, Breaking Free by Beth Moore, has not been returned. If you are still using the DVD, might you just let Iris Lewis know that it is in your possession. If you are through with it, might you please return it at your earliest convenience. Many thanks. Many thanks to all the Prime Timers who provided the wonderful goodies on Valentines Day for the police and fire departments. You are truly amazing! Peggy Harvey and I made the trays and Don Harvey and Ray Minch helped deliver them. Each shift received their own tray so no one had to eat leftovers. We even had enough goodies to bring extras that wouldn't fit on the trays. They were most definitely delighted with their surprise and very appreciative. Elaine Minch The Prime Timers give a BIG THANK YOU to the Presbyterian Women for hosting our Mardi Gras Luncheon on February 12 and the High School Youth and their leaders for all their hard work shopping, decorating, cooking, serving and cleaning up afterwards. The meal and service were 5-star and we are very appreciative!

Reserve these dates on your calendar!

We have set Sunday, May 13 to celebrate and pray for the graduates in worship. We need your help to make this a meaningful celebration. Please call the church office at 877-2048 to confirm your graduate can attend the events on May 13. We know that many are working and traveling, but we are hopeful that the day might be cleared on schedules. Please submit to the church office several pictures of your graduate (ideas are the senior picture, one from a church event, a baby picture etc.). We need these photos by April 16. Also, please complete an information form with details about your graduate and his/her future plans for inclusion in the Graduate Brochure.

Our church will host a regular monthly meeting for the Alzheimers Association and Mary Immaculate Hospital. The meetings are held on the second Tuesday of the month at 11 a.m. The group is open to anyone who is providing care for someone with a form of dementia. The unique part of the group is that it is also open to those who are diagnosed (and still in the early stages of dementia). All care partners are welcome to come, but the diagnosed need to go through a screening process prior to joining the group. If you would like to know more about the group, or if you would like to attend, please contact Barbara Shefelton at 886-6929 (Chaplains office) or 599-6847 (Home).

Thanks to all for your prayers, your cards, the plants, and the card made by the Church School Youth Class for Myrna during her continuing illness and for the cards and congratulations on our 50th Wedding Anniversary. We are truly blessed by our friends at Denbigh Presbyterian Church. In Christ, Don Bickhart THANK YOU to everyone who came to visit me in the hospital and rehab facility. Also thank you for wonderful cards of encouragement that people of DPC took the time to send me; it was very much appreciated and made me feel warm and cared about. Love to you all. Sincerely, Pat Horton
