A Message From the Director "It's not what you know," according to the
that Graduate classes count towards General Honors requirements if you are meeting the 3 required areas..or what the requirements are at all?? If not, or if you have questions and want more information, please come to one of our information sessions. Tuesday, February 28 4:00-5:00pm Monday, March 5 10:00-11:00am Holmes Multi-Purpose Room both days old adage, "but who you know." We don't exactly subscribe to this notion in the Honors College--we actually think "what you know' is pretty important--but we have to admit that making contacts and building a network is a critical part of your success at Clemson and beyond. That's why we're delighted to announce the first "Honors Networking Nights," to be held in late March and early April. The idea of Honors Networking Nights came from our new Student Advisory Board, which wanted to find a way for Honors students to meet, and learn from, older students in their majors and related fields. We'll be holding one Networking Night for each of the five colleges (the schedule appears on page 2 of this newsletter). Don't forget to register by the stated deadlines! Networking Nights are designed to give you the chance to meet other students, and to ask them about what courses to take; how to get involved with Departmental Honors and other Honors offerings; how to go about finding internships, co-ops, and jobs; and how to maximize your chances of getting into the best graduate and professional schools. We hope you'll take advantage of this opportunity to meet other Honors students, and to build your Honors network.

In Clemson this summer ...looking for an exciting, part-time job? Clemson will be hosting a group of Belgian students this July and we are looking for any students who are interested in working with the program! Student workers would be able to participate in any weekend trips and events planned. In addition to being paid, the cost of several meals, and expenses during the excursions, will be covered by the program. We are particularly looking for students who are excited about working with a group of international students. For more information, please contact Allison Kidd
