Honoring our parents is for adults just as much as it is for children. I. The _________________________ THERE IS NO SUCH THING AS A PERFECT PARENT There is no one righteous, not even one. (Romans 3:10) II. The _________________________ IF I HONOR MY PARENTS, I WILL BENEFIT FROM IT Honor your father and your mother, so that you may live long in the land the Lord you God is giving you. (Exodus 20:12) III. The _________________________ HOW DO I HONOR MY PARENTS? 1. _________________________ them Accept one another, then, just as Christ accepted you, in order to bring praise to God. (Romans 15:7) 2. _________________________ them Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to act. (Proverbs 3:27) 3. _________________________ them But if a widow has children or grandchildren, these should learn first of all to put their religion into practice by caring for their own family and so repaying their parents and grandparents, for this is pleasing to God. (I Timothy 5:4)
