Work Experience – American Express Bank Ltd., Chennai – June 2005 to till date

Presently designated as an Assistant Manager for the Trade Finance


department of the International Operation Center of the bank, wherein, currently I
have been leading the Euro Reimbursements team. Previously had been leading the
Letter of Credit Negotiations team.

Responsibilities

 Manage and lead the team for efficient working, by proper guidance to team
members.
 To ensure error-free authorizing and release of Reimbursement payments and
Refinances and other Reimbursement items by following American Express
Bank’s Policies and US Sanctions.

 Contact with the relationship managers of our bank and other Correspondent
banks for queries received through Emails/Telecommunication and resolve
them, thereby ensuring quality customer service.

 Ensure protection of the bank’s assets by complying with all internal, external
and regulatory norms.

Operations Management
 Monitoring overall functioning of processes, identifying improvement areas
and implementing adequate measures to enhance operational activities.
 Proactive management of incoming work-stream through prioritization and
effective distribution and optimal use of resources.
 Forecasting workload and scheduling staff to meet anticipated workload within
scheduled turnaround time thereby enhancing efficiency.

Enterprises Services (ACES), Chennai, a 100% subsidiary of ABN AMRO Bank
N.V., Netherlands.

Team Leader for Netherlands operations related to Letter of Credits,


Collection Bills, and Guarantee’s and payments by Swift and Mail.

 Handled the advising of confirmed/unconfirmed letters of credit. Adding


confirmation to the L/C’s after scrutinizing.

 Handled the authorization of Documentary collection transactions.

 Training the new recruits and successors on the respective products.

 Resolving customer queries and the quality issues arising in routine


processing, which are routed by the Local offices to ACES, Chennai.

following the banks policies & US sanctions.
