STAR STRUCK HAT Supplies: One hank Madelinetosh Tosh DK (225 yards) US Size 6 Circular Needles 16 inch Set

t of US Size 6 Double Pointed Needles Stitch marker Yarn or Tapestry Needle This should fit most average sized female heads. It fits my 23 inch round head perfectly not too loose and not too snug. Gauge: 5 stitches per inch over stockinette stitch. Your swatch should be knit in the round, and unblocked You will switch to the DPNs when there arent enough stitches to comfortably fit around the circular needles once you begin making the decreases. Special Notes:
1.

To make Star: Knit the next 3 stitches together, and leave them on the left needle, Yarn Over, and Knit the same 3 stitches together again before dropping from the left needle

2. At the end of Round 4, you will notice that you only have two stitches before your stitch marker. In order to make the last star of the round, you will need to do the following: Slip two stitches from the left needle to the right needle. Temporarily remove the stitch marker. Slip the two stitches back to the left needle. Now make the star. Slip one stitch to the left needle, place the stitch marker onto the right needle. You are now ready to begin knitting again with Round 1. Your stitch marker will be back in its correct place at the beginning of the round. If this seems a bit confusing, dont worry. Head on over to my YouTube Channel to watch my Converting Flat Knitting to Round video, where I demonstrate how the end of Row 4 is worked. Using circular needles, cast on 124 stitches, place marker, and join to knit in the round.

Slip stitches off needles and push needle through the center of the hat, pulling gently to tighten up stitches. Weave in tail on inside of hat. (If you gave yourself an extra inch or so on the tail to be on the safe side like I did, you neednt weave in the entire length just cut any excess off after youve woven in about an inch of the tail.) Enjoy your new hat! These instructions make perfect sense to me, however they may not make sense to everyone else. If you dont understand something, or are having difficulty with
