Rural Electrification Using Wireless Power Transmission

Abdul Hasib Siddique, Ahmad Fajar Firdaus, Lisa Lamont, Lana Chaar
Introduction
It is one of the biggest challenges in todays world to transmit energy in rough terrine like mountains, forest, and sea. In order to solve the problem, the concept of wireless power transmission systems has been taken into account in this paper. A verified SPICE model of wireless transmission has been considered for the efficiency calculation along with the mathematical approach. Numerical calculation shows that 30-70% transmission efficiency can be achieved by using this model of transmission depending upon the transmission distance and diameter of the antenna. MATLAB simulator and Simulink have been used for the system response and adaptability. Location, resonant objects varieties and different transmission distances have been considered for calculation. The resource of power is produced by PVSystems. The output is of the transmission system is fed to the inverter system which have been connected to the load centre.

Main Text
In the simulated system solar panel has been taken as source of energy which is connected to the MPPT to capture maximum energy from the sunray. The output of the MPPT has been a novel DC-DC converter which is connected to the modified patch antenna array. In the receiving inside a number of reactenna has been placed to capture the incidence beam of power transmitted. The output of reactenna is connected to DC-AC converter which controllored by power and voltage required by the system. The transmitter that has been chosen for the system is magnetron due to its high efficiency and low SNR. Here in figure 1 the stabilized output of the DC-DC converter has been shown. In figure 2 shows the efficiency of the system as the power required by it changes. In figure 3 the system respons to the input voltage has been examined where it could be seen that with the decreasing input voltage the duty cycle of DC-AC converter controller increases and show the minimum voltage that can be transferred through the system.

Conclusion
The proposed system is studied in two steps, with the reliability analysis achieved by MATLAB simulation. The ultimate aim is to propose an efficient and robust system. The wireless power transmission is an exciting technology that has the capability to open a new horizon to the consumer as well as to the service provider. It has been seen that when the output voltage requirement of the DC-DC converter is raised above 400 V, the system becomes unstable so it was kept at 400 V giving an input at the receiver end of 200V, 140V and 80V for the proposed system. The results obtained at 0.88 Km is noted to be the optimized distance for this system with a transmission efficiency of 35%. The proposed system is also found very flexible to the
