Abstract

Date Performed: February 21, 2012 Date Submitted: February 28, 2012

The experiment aimed to familiarize the students with the Ohms Law as well as the relationship between the components of the circuit with a certain kind. In the experiment, we used electronic gadgets as voltmeter, ammeter, resistance box, power converter and connecting wires with alligator clips. Using a certain voltage to supply power, we are to record the amount of current as well as the voltage output in the circuit either parallel or series wherein the gathered data will be utilized to compute for the experimental value of resistance and be later compared to that of the accepted value which was set on each experimental set-up. After the comparison, we were able to check the percentage of error between our experimental values from that of the accepted value. II. III. Analysis and Interpretation With the following data gathered in the experiment, it has been observed that the proportionality of the voltage to current will determine the experimental value of the resistance. And comparing it with the accepted value will give to reasonable marginal errors. In all three of the tabulated results, most have their error below 15% although there are still those run tests with above 25% error which is quite unacceptable given that the consistency of the percentage of error is not quite stable. IV. Generalization and Conclusion After the experiment has been conducted and the problems that exist have been answered, I can now say that the resistance is the proportionality of the voltage to the current flowing in the system. Furthermore, the possibility to obtaining the best and most accepted value of the experiment could be done with the use of much precise gadgets that are calibrated according to the needs of the experiment. As those that were used during the conduct of the experiment were faulty and a few of the connecting wires were loose, much marginal error that can be avoided if the above specifications were met unexpectedly. VII. Reflection: The experiment was very fascinating and tricky. More than that, it was very hard to perform since there were so many connections that need to be made so we can achieve the best result of the experiment as well as comply with the methodology of the experiment. Although it was very hard and took as our whole time executing all the methods required in the experiment, we are able to finish it with minimal and reasonable errors although there was one with the highest amount of error which was really hard for us to determine the cause of error. The over-all of the experiment was fun and it succeeded in its objectives although we, in our group, got not so high grade in the assessment.
