The campus is almost a small town in its own right with shops, banks, restaurants, bars,
sports, cultural, religious, social and residential facilities – even a Pre-School Centre – as
well as the academic buildings. Lancaster students enjoy a splendid green-field site with
wonderful views of mountains and sea, yet the campus is just 5 minutes' drive from the
M6 motorway and close to the main West Coast railway which connects London and
Scotland. It provides a happy mixture of bustle and calm, with opportunity for reflection
and relaxation.
More than 3,800 students live at Bailrigg in the University's own accommodation, which
includes special rooms for graduate students in the Graduate College. The Graduate
College provides high-quality rooms with en-suite facilities and a social environment
which is attuned to the needs of mature graduate students.
Lancaster University Management School is located towards the south end of the
University campus, close to Lancaster House Hotel and Conference Centre. The School is
built around two pleasant landscaped quadrangles and has its own lecture theatres and
seminar rooms. In February 2005 the School opened the new Lancaster Leadership
Centre – an impressive state-of-the-art building with lecture theatres, groupwork areas,
offices and social facilities.

The Lancaster MBA programme fees for entry in October 2008 are:
The programme fees cover all tuition, registration, examination costs and graduation.
The deposit you pay when you accept a place on the programme is deducted from the
payment due when you register on the MBA.
Fees are payable at the start of the academic year but it is also possible to spread your fee
payments over three instalments: in October, January and April.
Living costs
You will need to budget extra for your accommodation, meals and personal spending.
Lancaster, being a campus university, is substantially cheaper to live in than most UK
city universities. All your main facilities and resources are within 10–15 minutes' walk on
campus.
We estimate that you should budget for approximately £8,500 in addition to the MBA
programme fees. If you are going to be bringing a partner and/or children with you, the
costs will be higher: you may need another £4,500 for your partner and £3,000 per child.
See further guidance on living costs for postgraduates.
