Zydeco Logo Design

Design Inspiration & Process When I read the client brief, there were a number of points that stood out to me. First, the name Zydeco came from Science to Go. I wanted the logo to reflect this original name, so as a result I separated the Zy, de, and co with dots. Also, I thought it was interesting that student feedback was that they thought some of the previous logo ideas were too childish. So I tried to make the logo feel playful by using bright colors (suggested by the client) and breaking up the name, but not too childish. Finally, I found classmate feedback to be very helpful. My original logo design had dots placed lower in the logo, thereby giving the [unintended] appearance of some portion of a website domain name. I raised the dots a bit higher on the logo and was able to keep them as a design element without confusing people who may think it is a website address.
