TERMS AND CONDITIONS FOR PROCUREMENT AND SUPPLY OF OVESEAS STANDARDS

1. Overseas Publications are not available ready stock, but can be procured in about 3-4 weeks by Airmail. (FOR ISO, IEC & BS within a week). 2. Though efforts will be made to procure the publications within the stipulated period in the quotation, BIS shall not be responsible for delays, if any, caused due to reasons beyond control. 3. Please check the Title of the Standards with the Standard No. to ensure correctness of the order from the respective website. 4. While corresponding please mention reference and date of this Quotation/Proforma Invoice. 5. The information about specifications and prices being quoted in this letter is on the basis of catalogues/information available with BIS, it is possible that the same may have undergone revision, or get revised in due course. Prices including procurement charges, prevailing on the date of supply shall be application. Customs duties wherever paid for release of shipment shall be charged from the customer at the time of raising final invoice. 6. Full remittance for procurement of publications(s) from abroad is essential. The amount commensurate with the cost of publication(s) plus airmail procurement charges etc may be sent to us by Demand Draft in favour of BUREAU OF INDIAN STANDARDS, NEW DELHI , as adjustable advance. Balance, if any, shall be realized or refunded or adjusted against future supplies, as the case may be. Letter should be addressed to: Director(Sales), Bureau of Indian Standards, 9, B.S. Zafar Marg, New Delhi-110002. 7. Firm order to the publishers shall be placed only on receipt of your confirmed order along with the amount quoted in this letter. Order once registered and placed with the publisher shall not be cancelled. 8. If the advance remittance received from the parties falls short which is only confirmed after receipt of the publications from publisher, intimation shall be sent for remitting the balance amount. The customer should ensure remittance of the same within sixty days, failing which BIS shall cancel the order and in that case the Bureau will have the right to forfeit the advance payment and also recover any other amount/damages which BIS may suffer on account of the failure of customer to honour its commitment. 9. The publications/standards are ordinarily in the language of the country of their origin unless otherwise stated. For translation facilities you may get in touch, if necessary, direct with the INDIAN SCIENTIFIC AND DOCUMENTION CENTRE, 14 SATSANG VIHAR MARG, NEAR QUTAB HOTEL, NEW DELHI-110067, who entertain such jobs on their usual rates.
