Sitcom is a term often used an abbreviation of situation comedy which is a kind of comedy performance. Sitcoms usually present a story centered on a family or some other group of people although sometimes even on animals (puppets) or things! Who have some things in common, same workplace, same school, living in the same city,etc. The principal characters appear once and again throughout the story. However each character has different personalities. Successful sitcoms are in the air for years and become part of our life, so we learn to love them, suffer with them, worry about them. One of the most common archetypes that appears in sitcoms is the naughty, such as Alf and Jennifer Aniston in Friends, the intellectual Lisa Simpson in The Simpsons, the eccentric, the nanny in The Nanny among others. Watching Classic sitcoms Bewitched My Beautiful Genius is a good example of viewing the changes in society and fashion (from houses, to cars, makeup, hairstyles and clothes) as well as the differences in culture (celebrations, daily activities).
