SEVEN HAYKALS

1) One should blow in front after recitation:

9:51. Qul lan yuseebana illa ma kataba Allahu lana huwa mawlana waAAala Allahi falyatawakkali
almu/minoona
9:51. Say: "Nothing will happen to us except what Allah has decreed for us: He is our protector":
and on Allah let the Believers put their trust.

2) One should blow in the rear after recitation:

10:107. Wa-in yamsaska Allahu bidurrin fala kashifa lahu illa huwa wa-in yuridka bikhayrin fala
radda lifadlihi yuseebu bihi man yashao min AAibadihi wahuwa alghafooru alrraheemu
10:107. If Allah do touch thee with hurt, there is none can remove it but He: if He do design some
benefit for thee, there is none can keep back His favour: He causeth it to reach whomsoever of
His servants He pleaseth. And He is the Oft-Forgiving, Most Merciful.
3) One should blow upwards after recitation:

11:6. Wama min dabbatin fee al-ardi illa AAala Allahi rizquha wayaAAlamu mustaqarraha
wamustawdaAAaha kullun fee kitabin mubeenin
11:6. There is no moving creature on earth but its sustenance dependeth on Allah. He knoweth
the time and place of its definite abode and its temporary deposit: All is in a clear Record.

4) One should blow downward after recitation:

11:56. Innee tawakkaltu AAala Allahi rabbee warabbikum ma min dabbatin illa huwa akhithun
binasiyatiha inna rabbee AAala siratin mustaqeemin
11:56. "I put my trust in Allah, My Lord and your Lord! There is not a moving creature, but He hath
grasp of its fore-lock. Verily, it is my Lord that is on a straight Path.

5) One should blow to the right after recitation:

29:60. Wakaayyin min dabbatin la tahmilu rizqaha Allahu yarzuquha wa-iyyakum wahuwa
alssameeAAu alAAaleemu
29:60. How many are the creatures that carry not their own sustenance? It is Allah who feeds
(both) them and you: for He hears and knows (all things).
6) One should blow to the left after recitation:

35:2. Ma yaftahi Allahu lilnnasi min rahmatin fala mumsika laha wama yumsik fala mursila lahu
min baAAdihi wahuwa alAAazeezu alhakeemu
35:2. What Allah out of his Mercy doth bestow on mankind there is none can withhold: what He
doth withhold, there is none can grant, apart from Him: and He is the Exalted in Power, full of
Wisdom.

7) One should blow over the whole body after recitation:

39:38. Wala-in saaltahum man khalaqa alssamawati waal-arda layaqoolunna Allahu qul
afaraaytum ma tadAAoona min dooni Allahi in aradaniya Allahu bidurrin hal hunna kashifatu
durrihi aw aradanee birahmatin hal hunna mumsikatu rahmatihi qul hasbiya Allahu AAalayhi
yatawakkalu almutawakkiloona
39:38. If indeed thou ask them who it is that created the heavens and the earth, they would be
sure to say, "(Allah)". Say: "See ye then? the things that ye invoke besides Allah,- can they, if
Allah wills some Penalty for me, remove His Penalty?- Or if He wills some Grace for me, can they
keep back his Grace?" Say: "Sufficient is Allah for me! In Him trust those who put their trust."
