    Welcome to the first newsletter for the Butetown Community Centre & Youth Pavilion Projects. VINCI Construction UK Ltd are proud to be working with Cardiff Council and the community of Butetown on the construction of the new facilities. Groundbreaking We were delighted to welcome key stakeholders from the community and Cardiff Council to help us get works underway at a recent Groundbreaking Event.

    Action Forum We will be holding an Action Forum for these projects in January to look at our Targeted Recruitment & Training Plan for the sites and to make key community stakeholders aware of the opportunities we will be undertaking. If you would like to be involved with this group, please contact our Community & Training Liaison Suzi Doidge, for more information (suzanne.doidge@vinciconstruc tion.co.uk ).

    The Considerate Constructors Scheme is a national initiative set up by the construction industry to improve its image. This site is registered with the Considerate Constructors Scheme and we understand that the construction industry has a huge impact on all our lives. We will ensure our construction site and staff; present an image of competent management, efficiency, awareness of local environmental issues and above all neighbourliness, which in turn will provide a positive advertisement, not just for VINCI Construction UK but for the industry as a whole. Under the scheme we will be: Considerate Environmentally Aware Clean A Good Neighbour Respectful Safe Responsible Accountable

    We would like to take this opportunity to wish you all a peaceful and happy new year, and look forward to working with you in 2012. So far the works at site have been mainly below ground with site preparation but soon the exciting part will begin with the building frameworks going into place!
