Teach the whole team Position Circuit 3 levels

Within position groups change up every week


Shed & Tackle Angle Tackle Sweep Tackle Open Field Tackle Eye Opener Cup it

Shed Tackle
Need: One man sled or 1 man big bag
BC

LB
BC does not leave until LB sheds the bag

Angle Tackle
Need: 4 cones
BC

DB
DB will make contact and try to drive back upfield

Sweep Tackle

Need: 2 Big bags


Good for undersized players, but must be taught with caution

DB

DB must take his inside arm and drive through the outside leg of the BC or in this case the bag

Open Field Tackle


Need: 5 cones

Depending on position group, the Def. player must breakdown and drive feet after contact

Eye Opener
Need: 5 Big bags

DL
DL will shuffle staying a half step behind BC. The BC will pick a whole and the DL must fill and drive back.

Cup It
Need: 2 Big bags

LB

LBs will lie down, and on the whistle they will jump and pursue the BC. The 1st man there must turn the BC back into his help, and the rest will clean up.

Turnover Circuit

Within position groups change up every week

Need: 3 Footballs

Need: 5 Big bags & 2 Footballs

DL

DL will shuffle over the bags. Once he clears the last bag the coach will drop a ball, which the DL must pick up and score.

Tip & Pick


Need: 2 Footballs

1st Def. player will tip the ball in the air and the second will go up at the highest point for the INT.

Secure Tackle and Strip


Need: 2 Footballs

1st Def. player will secure the tackle and the 2nd will come to either help strip the ball or scoop and score if the ball is already out.

QB Takeaway
Need: 2 Footballs & 2 Cones
