Think about it, Kagome IS the reincarnation of Kikyo (ev en though she is somewhat jealous of her). And even after 500 years, she still m anages to meet with Inuyasha, Kikyo's love, and be with him. The Irresponsible Captain Tylor "Tylor, you magnificent fool..." ~Ru Baraba Dom This one was taken from the OVAs-the last one as a matter of fact. This was during the scene when the Hizen ceremoniously destroys the Soyokaze. I think it is a good quote for several reasons. First of all, Tylor really was a fool, but the kind of fool that made those around him believe in him and a future. Second ly, it also represented how Dom, perhaps even the entire Raalgon forces respecte d and hated Tylor and the Soyokaze as they all give a final salute to the Soyoka ze while it was blowing up. Finally, I also think that the destruction of the So yokaze meant an end to a chapter. It was the end of their time living in a dream and signal that they now have to live in reality (even though they can still ca rry a small part of that dream), it is the end of their youths and the beginning of their grown up, responsible life. Most of all, I think it also meant a new c hapter between the Raalgon empire and the humans.

The time that Yuuichi spent in that town seemed almost like a dream and as the series was about to end, it's as if he was trying hard not to wake up. T hen, there are the people that he meets along the way - people who are locked in eternity it would seem, dreaming the same dream that only he could free and all ow them to move forward. And then, finally, there is Ayu who literally wakes up at the very end from a long, endless dream. Kimagure Orange Road "I, Kasuga Kyosuke, am living the best years of my life!" ~Kasuga Kyosuke KOR is another all time favorite for me. Sometimes, when I look back on it , I still can't believe that I used to watch this without the subtitles even tho ugh I don't speak Japanese. Anyway, this line is here because anyone who watches this can easily tell that it's from KOR and it's not because Kyosuke tells his name in the quote, but because this is what he says at the intro of every episod e. If you are wondering why I placed this in here, then you have NEVER seen a s ingle episode of Nadesico. Why do I say that? Because Ruri calls her crewmates i diots in almost every single episode. Sometimes more than once and almost always to their face. Rather funny actually since Ruri seems to be the only logical pe rson out of the whole crew. Thinking that it was a practical joke made by his sempais, he makes that wish and gets a permanent girlfriend who also doubles as a doormat! Belldandy in the manga is sooo much better than in t he OVAs. If you liked the OVAs, go get the mangas kiddies! "I am NOT a kid! Nyaaaah!!!" ~Skuld "Ice creeeaaammm!!!" ~Skuld Skuld is Belldandy and Urd-sama's little sister, goddess of the future, Ic e Cream "connoisseur" and a certifiable mecha freak. These lines are extremely t ypical of Skuld. One Piece "Knowing yourself, knowing the world, surpass this sword, surpass me. Until that time comes, you are not allowed to lose, you are not allowed to die. I will wai t for you as the greatest swordsman in the world!" ~Mihouku, the man with hawk-l ike eyes Not very accurate, but it still sounds pretty damned good. Here Migfor (Mi houku?) tells this to Zorro after he defeats Zorro and recognizes that there rea lly is something more to Zorro than bravado and that he genuinely wants to becom e the greatest swordsman in the world. Thus, he promises this to Zorro and tells him that he will wait for him to challenge him again and take the position of " Greatest Swordsman in the World." "The world has not yet heard our answer" ~Dragon Okay, so maybe it is not accurate but what can I do-I was dealing with a H ong Kong fansub. Y'all do realize what THAT means right? It means crappy English translations, that's what it means! Anyway, Dragon is referring to the age of p irates in the world with this quote. "There is no mistake! It's Pirate Hunter Roronoah Zoro. He's cleaning our floors the fiend!" ~Random Marine Yes, a fiendish man does come to your house and cleans your floor for you when you don't want it cleaned! I thought that it was pretty funny. Here, Zoro g ot guilt tripped into taking a job in the Marine base to repay something he brok e and random Marine peon A and B recognized him when he was using three mops to clean. More than that though, if he is such an evil man like they think he is, t hen shouldn't what went through their minds have been "Why would a famous and da ngerous man be cleaning our dingy floor?" first? Ouran High School Host Club "You rich bastards!" ~Haruhi Poor Haruhi - and I do mean poor. She's the only poor kid in a school full of rich brats who have never had to count their meals!

Princess Mononoke "The trees cry out as they die, but you cannot hear them. I lie here. I listen t o the pain of the forest and feel the ache of the bullet in my chest and dream o f the day when I will finally crunch that gun woman's head in my jaws...San is m y daughter. Now my poor, ugly, be autiful daughter is neither human nor wolf." ~Moro Moro, the wolf god, talks about her fears of what the future might bring, especially with the selfish destruction wrought by human hands and the fate that lies in store for her human daughter who can never belong to either world. Princess Tutu "There is happiness for those who accept their fate, there is glory for those wh o resist their fate." ~Edel Well, the characters in Princess Tutu have been trying to do one or the ot her almost the entire time. This was Edel talking to Fakia who has been trying t o change the fate that was in store for him. I figured that it was very appropri ate as a representative for the whole series. RahXephon the Movie "The individual exists because there is a point of reference to identify itself" ~Haruka It's true, kinda like without a mirror, you can never know what you look l ike. It that same manner, we need other people to be able to create our own indi vidual personalities. "The beginning exists for the end and the end exists for the beginning." ~Quon ...So what sake does the middle parts exists for? Just kidding. I guess wh at it's trying to say is that all things must have a proper birth and death and that nothing is exempted from this cycle. On the side note, doesn't this (as wel l as many other quotes) remind you of a certain movie about the world's end. It starts with evan and ends with gelion. Record of Lodoss War, The "There once was a boy who dreamed of being a hero, who sincerely believed in the battle to banish darkness from a world of light. But light and darkness are equ als and where one exist, so to must the other. When the boy finally realized thi s, that was when he started the path to becoming a true hero" ~Narrator Pretty much a dead on description of Parn, the main character of Lodoss Wa r and his journey from being an idealistic boy to a seasoned warrior and hero. Rurouni Kenshin "You can train a dog with food, you can buy a person with money, but there isn't a man alive able influence the wolves of Mibu! Some things will never change. A wolf will always be a wolf, the Shinsen Gumi will always be the Shinsen Gumi, a nd a manslayer will always be a manslayer!"~Goro Fujita, also known as Hajime Sa ito I believe that this sum up what Saito is really all about. That and he als o happens to be one of my favorite Rurouni Kenshin characters.

You will accept these lies all the while, your h ands will be stained with the worst of offenses." ~Seijiro Hiko Pretty much describes why Seijiro Hiko no longer fights and why he wishes to live the rest of his life in seclusion. Samurai X: Reflections (Rurouni Kenshin 2nd OVA series) "You cannot run. You cannot escape the blood when you have slain so many. You ca n only live and die and all that must be by the sword!" ~Kenshin Himura quoting Shaku Arai This was what Shaku Arai, the master swordsmith who had become infamous as a man who was obsessed with making sword that kills well instead of sword that cuts well. The Bakamatsu was over and Kenshin was about to vanish to fulfill his vow to Tomoe to never kill again when the revolution is over. Basically, Shaku Arai is telling Kenshin that he cannot just abandon the sword. To do so with be a great dishonor to all whose blood he had spilled in paving a new future for a better Japan. This was also when he was handed the Sakabatsu (reversed blade swo rd). "I knew then...I knew that the world needed him and that I couldn't change his w ay of life - that it wasn't mine...it wasn't mine to change. But even though I k new it...even though I knew it, I wanted to chase him, to somehow keep him." ~Ka oru Himura This was what Kaoru felt and realized when Kenshin bid her farewell to go to Kyoto and face the ghost of the revolution's past. She realized that no matte r how much she tries to protect him from his inner demons, she cannot. She can o nly be his spiritual support and watch him face his battles from the sidelines. Serial Experiments Lain "If you aren't remembered, then you never existed." ~Arisu Which is what happens to Lain (willingly) in the end.

Shakugan no Shanatan "By the way, I'm hungry ~de arumasu~.." ~Willhelmina "Grilled beef lunch set." ~Tiamat "I prefer pork ginger of grilled beef ~de arimasu~." ~Willhelmina "Hooray pork!" ~Tiamat "Roger." ~Willhelmina I just thought that it was an amusing take on Willhelmina. Shakugan no Sha natan itself is just a parody on Shakugan no Shana, but still, it is a pretty da mned funny take on the way the Willhemina is and the conversation itself is funn y in a bizarre sort of way. Shamanic Princess "Some things are real and some things are false, can't you tell the difference?" ~Sara "You haven't changed after all these years. Still a spoiled brat, but the kindes t person of all. I love you Tiara-that's why I can't forgive you!" ~Sara The whole time you really can't tell is the Sara that appears before them is really Sara or the Throne of Yord. In the end, we find out that they are both the same-the Sara and the Throne of Yord is the same thing! I chose the first l ine because of this and the second one because it signifies the bond between Tia ra and the human part of the Throne of Yord/Sara. Shinkon Gattai Godanner "Stars in heaven, flowers on earth, love for people - the world is all connected , one cannot fight by himself." ~Anna's father

Gourry can sometimes (ok, a lot of times) crack me up. This was w hen he and Lina first met. Please note that Lina's flat chest is the butt of man y jokes in the Slayers continuity. S layers Try was all about vengeance, redemption and trying to find one's place in life and in the world despite your past. That was what both Valgaav and Fillia have been searching for all through out the series (minus the vengeance part for Fillia). That is why I believe that they describe Slayers Try so well. Tenchi Muyo! Ryo-Ohki "Hey, don't hurt yourself. I'll do it for you!" ~Ryoko One of the most memorable lines for me in the first episode of the first O VA series of Tenchi Muyo. Not only that, it's spoken by Ryoko also! Tenchi Muyo! Tenchi Universe "We are having fun aren't we? Everyday here is like a dream. I really hope it's going to be like this forever." ~Ryoko Ah Ryoko-my blue haired, golden eyed goddess in red and black! Yes, Ryoko WAS, IS and ALWAYS WILL BE my favorite character in Tenchi, but besides that, I think that this line suites the TV series most of all. Just like what Ryoko tell s Tenchi, they are living a wonderful dream of a life and just as Ryoko wanted i t to be, the carnival seems to go on and on. Hell, the whole series is designed that way! Tenchi Forever: Tenchi Muyo in Love 2 "What do you think created this world? Not science, not magic - it's the power o f my heart!" ~Haruna "Let the memory fade away until there is nothing left but a warm feeling in your heart." ~Haruna Not only do our hearts guide us as Tenchi's guided him to Ryoko, it shapes us and the world in which we live in. In our hearts lies intangible things that cannot be taken away from us. Even as we forget them, they still remain there o ut of sight, helping shape and mold the shape of our hearts. Those Who Hunt Elves "Ever since that day in the rain, Ive been looking for you. Of course, at first I was looking for you because I was going to have you killed. I mean, Im the princ e. Nobody talks to me like that! But now that Ive seen you naked, I think youve go t a great rack. I think we could hit it off. What do you say?" ~the Prince Sometimes when ADV changes the lines when they dub it in English, it makes no sense why they did that. Sometimes though, it makes it hella funnier. This i s one of those instances. Tower of Druaga ~Sword of Uruk~, The "Praise be to Gilgamesh, huh?" ~Cumu Man, that was one scene that really felt bittersweet. Dude, was completely disillusioned at this point that he'd rather stay behind in a tower of death to live with his ghostly sister who dies years ago. Trigun

It is time to embrace it. That is why...that is why I m ust end it. End it now!" ~Legato Bluesummers Legato's ending soliloquy. This one comes form episode 24. The one where L egato forces Vash to break his oath to never kill by forcing him to decide wheth er to kill him or watch Meryl and Milly die. I really like this quote, but then again, people say that I have an obsession with the subject concerning the philo sophy of death. Twelve Kingdoms "I want to see what kind of kingdom the person who spoke of her own foolishness will create." ~Shoukei Shoukei, former princess of the kingdom of Hou, tells this to Rakushun aft er Rakushun finally helps her realize how foolish she was and that being a ruler means more than just having a life of privilage. It also means responsibility t o the people much personal sacrifice. She wants to know what kind of kingdom You ko, who already knows of that tremendous burden and responsibility, can create. Vampire Hunter D "Because I am a dunpiel. I don't get to have a life-not like yours" ~D This was D's response when asked why he keeps doing what he does. Pretty i nsightful to his character I suppose. Voices of the Distant Stars (Hoshi no Koe) "Time is so generous to us and, yet it still such a cruel thief!" ~Mikako Nagami ne "We are far, far, very, very far apart, but it might be that thoughts can overco me time and distance." ~Mikako Nagamine Mikako and Noboru are two friends who grew up together and found themselve s separated after middle school. These two lines pretty much sums up their regre t and their hopes for the path that their destinies have taken them. Hoshi no Ko e is an excellent story and I love it so! Wings of Honneamis "Can anyone here me? I'm the first man in space. If you look up, well, maybe you 'll see it. Or at least please listen. We've left the oceans and climbed above t he mountains. I'm flying. We've found the untouched realm of God. You have to lo ok now, it's your only chance. Nothing is here yet, not even air or water to rui n. Shirotsugue, instead of talking about the majesty of space that is now before him, sees the world below him instead of the endlessness above him and realizes that the world that he comes from is so infinitesimally small and insignificant when compared to the rest of the universe that all of our selfishn ess and greed are extremely petty in light of the majesty that we are willing to sacrifice and destroy in its name. Through out the whole series, everyone believes tha t the future is already set and nothing that anyone can do can avert it. It seem s that Kotori is the only who believes in a future that is decided by one's own self. XXXHolic "Our relationship has already been formed. No matter how trivial a meeting and t he incidents that follow may seem, a relationship is made. Even if it is just fo r a short amount of time, a knot that has been tied does not unravel. It means t hat during your lifetime, every incident that passes has meaning. The meeting be tween you and I also has meaning, so remember it." ~Ichihara Yuuko Nothing is a mere coincidence, all is as it was meant to be - especially i n the world that Yuuko lives in. Yamamoto Yohko, Starship Girl (OVA) "That's alright, I don't have one (an obligation) either, but do we really need a reason?" ~Yamamoto Yohko It's from the dance scene of the 3rd episode of the second OVA series. It' s just a lovely scene...to the point that it almost seems out of place in the ep isode. Zettai Shonen "This world is far more complicated, rich and full of mystery than people think. Sometimes you get another chance with people you think are permanently out of yo ur life. Sometimes relationships dont work out right the first time, not because its not meant to be but because theres something else you need to learn for them t o work out right: a lesson on remembrance, a lesson on maturity, a lesson on rec ognizing chances when they come running towards you. Inasmuch as not everything ends with happily ever after, not all stories end in tragedy and heartache eithe r. Sometimes, separation is just another chapter that life allows you to write t
