Thanksgiving greetings from the President
of the Kirkwood Park Neighborhood Association
With gratitude for the
friendships and sense of
community I have obtained
in Kirkwood Park, I extend
wishes for a Happy
Thanksgiving to all of you.
Thank you to Jean Powers
for serving as our treasurer!
She has established an elec-
tronic record for us on
Microsoft Excel as well as
making our Kirkwood
Directory available online.
Due to other obligations,
Jean will be unable to con-
tinue as treasurer. Diane
Burch has volunteered to
serve as treasurer in an
interim capacity. Thank you
Diane!
There will be four open-
ings for new board mem-
bers this coming spring.
One is for two years to
complete Jean's term and
the other three positions
will be for three years. Our
officers are elected for one
year. Please consider being
a candidate for the Board of
Directors. All property own-
ers are members in the
association. For questions
regarding officers' duties,
you may refer to your copy
of the by-laws. If you do
not have a copy of the by-
laws and restrictions and
covenants you may find
them online through the
city of Fort Wayne web site,
www.cityoffortwayne.org or
contact your block liaison
for a hard copy.
It has been brought to the
attention of the Executive
Board members that several
members are not in compli-
ance of Kirkwood’s restric-
tive covenants and restric-
tions regarding storage of

curb, Mayor Henry has sug-
gested mulching leaves and
keeping them on your grass
or composting them as an
environmentally friendly
alternative to raking them to
the curb.
