West Harbour Alliance Church: Prayer and Praise
West Harbour Alliance Church: Prayer and Praise
Pray for Jim Baker's loved ones as they grieve his loss.
Please pray that the Lord would bless and empower our Easter weekend outreach.
Pray that the Lord will heal and bring complete health to Stella Nobles newest great-grandson. He has two holes in his heart, one being 1cm in diameter ..... which is pretty big for a wee little heart. Please pray for Adrian Helu and his family as they deal with the shocking discovery of cancer in his body.

Light Youth Ministry Early February saw the launch of Light, our shiny new youth ministry at West Harbour Alliance Church. Light's mission is simple; to encourage the youth who attend to grow in their walk with God and to be His shining light in all aspects of their lives ~ "You are the light of the world - like a city on a hilltop that cannot be hidden" Matthew 5:14. Light is currently meeting on a fortnightly basis at WHAC on Sundays at 5:30-7:30pm. It involves two hours of fun and includes music lessons, games/challenges/outings and most importantly some time in the Word of God. The requirements for coming are simple - that you are between the ages of 13-25. We'd love to see all of our young people at Light and for you to bring your friends. For more up-to-date information on when Light meets please listen to the notices given in Church or see Sophie Thomas, either in person, through facebook, email (sophie.nicole.thomas@gmail.com) or txt (021 111 7575). As with any new ministry prayer is very important and as such Prayer Cards for Light are available should you wish to join us in praying for this ministry. Please see Sophie Thomas for your copy of a Light prayer card after the service if you would like one. Thank you very much to those who are already praying for this ministry ~ "Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours" Mark 11:24.

At WHAC, we exist to help people move from brokenness to wholeness in Jesus Christ, and it's our firm belief that that continuing journey, much like our regular lives, has a few important building blocks along the way... First is our birth, or entrance into God's family. Jesus called this being born again, and it's the new start that comes as we ask God to forgive us and to make Jesus the Lord of our lives. As babies in any family, we need love, support, nurture and care. At WHAC, that primarily happens through caring networks that happen over morning tea and in our home groups so that here "nobody stands alone". The next step in any life is to start growing in our knowledge of the world and of God. But, "I can't grow for you", and as such, we encourage people to join us Sunday mornings, in one of our growth groups, or in one of our new block courses. As we continue to mature, it's important to realize that "If it's going to be, it's up to me" because God made you unique for a unique purpose. As such, it's important to discover your gifts, and to start using them in His service. Finally, as adults, we seek to pour out our lives for the benefit of those we love. As believers, we seek to pour out our lives as living sacrifices in an act of worship to God, where we put "All that I am and all that I have" at His disposal to be used for His glory, His will, and in His way. It might be interesting for you to place yourself on this growth journey to see what new challenges are next for you, or to see what needs revisiting as we walk together towards wholeness in Christ.
