There are many lessons a leader could learn from Whitehead.

According to whitehead, before decision making, leaders need to observe and evaluate other companys project, either success or failure, to clearly understand what is to do and what is not. Analyze and recruit people who have the spirit, attitude and experience needed for companys operation. Briefly explains on how the company operates, so employee clearly understands what it needs for company to run smoothly. Seek also for employees creativity as it might be useful to the company and appreciate each contribution by giving recognition or reward to the employee as a job well done. Besides that, leader also needs to identify which areas are unsuccessful by distributing review of partnering behaviour or survey, as they need more intention or direction. Furthermore, employee opinion survey and group meeting itself is just not enough to get contact with the employees. The most effective ways of communicating is face-to-face with the employees, such as having lunch together and so on. Moreover, leader needs to get involved in partnering values, with approaches such as getting over challenges, communicating what is the need for success and so on. Employee will take it seriously when leader get involved. Whitehead stated that, it is not necessary to set up many procedures which are not related to strategic vision, it may slow down companys progression, and do not rely too much on organizational chart, we must treat everybody equally with respect as it will increase employees creativity. Furthermore, as a leader, it is a must to set a good example to the employees, good leader act as role model and inspirational to the employees. Whitehead also believes people will perform at their full potential when they commit more challenging job, since it required people to express their own opinion and behaviour on how to get things done. Leader also need to maintain and encourage employee who contributed the most and wanting to do job well done, by keeping company ahead, keeping team fresh, reorganizing employee and so on. Besides that, leader must provide feedback to the team; about how well are they performing, so they will know what is lacking and so on. There are no such thing as hero-leader, leader actually come from all sorts of packages mostly from partnership and teamwork. Individual excellence could get you nowhere. Keep the operation going through dad-to-day meeting and practise frequently in order for operation to run well.
