LOCATION: BRGY. KAUNLARAN, CUBAO, QUEZON CITY POPULATION: 7,743 NO. OF SAMPLES USING SLOVEN FORMULA WITH 0.07 MARGIN OF ERROR: 205

The group conducted its benchmark survey last August 22, 2011, Monday. From 10:00am to 5:00pm.

1. The most obvious problem in the Barangay CATEGORY A. HEALTH B. ENVIRONMENT C. EDUCATION D. FAMILY PLANNING E. LIVELIHOOD F. PEACE & ORDER G. SPORTS H. YOUTH OTHERS FREQUENCY 70 70 40 25 53 51 18 36 4 PERCENTAGE 34.15 34.15 19.51 12.2 25.85 24.89 8.78 17.56 1.95

Table 1 shows that the most number of individuals or respondents see that both the Health and Environment Issue is the most obvious problem in their barangay. Based on the answers we got from them when asked that why they have chosen it, majority said that the barangay has formulated programs regarding these but they werent able to get full benefit from it and also programs organized is not that efficient. Health was chosen because of the incident of Dengue here in our country. They are alarmed that they might get it and wants to have action from the barangay that action shall be done to avoid the problem. Next to it was the Livelihood Factor, Peace and Order, Education, Youth, Family Planning and lastly Sports. Some before they were able to answer this portion they easily said they dont actually see any problems in their barangay.

2. Barangay Respondents Response (Is the barangay doing something about the problem?) CATEGORY YES NO NO RESPONSE TOTAL F 69 102 34 P 33.66 49.76 16.58 100.00

Table 2 shows that majority of the barangay respondents answered NO. With the follow up question of why, they answered that they dont feel that action that the barangay is doing or the barangay is doing necessary actions but not in the vicinity of their place or not in the whole barangay. Some answered with YES. There had been respondents who refused to answer this portion its because that they cant easily judge the barangay if theyre making necessary actions for the problem or not.

FOLLOW UP: Possible reason why the barangay is not acting upon the problem.

F 41 24 34 106

P 20 11.71 16.59 51.70 100.00

Table 2.1 shows that the main reason they see on why the barangay wasnt able to act upon on the problems its because of that the barangay has no budget or they have the budget but its not enough for the implementation of the proposed program for the problem. Incapability of the barangay follows and with no time comes up with the least number. Almost a hundred of the respondents did not answered the question due to that they dont want to judge the barangay easily with the issue.

Table 4 shows that the issue regarding Environment shall be campaigned in their barangay with sixty four (64) votes. This is close to the sixty two (62) votes we got from the Health Category. We can see that this differs from the tabulation on Table 1 wherein there had been a tie of votes for Health and Environment Category. This is because of respondents who voted all the problems from the first question and when asked as to what problem they wanted to campaign, it appears that they only selected a two-three problems only. Livelihood Category comes with fifty-five (55) votes followed by Peace and Order with forty-three (43), Education with twenty-nine (29), Youth with twenty-four (24), Sports with nineteen (19) and lastly, Family Planning with only eighteen (18) votes.
