What is Discovery?
Discovery is National Parks state-wide, self-funding environmental education program. Through our walks, talks and tours we aim to foster enjoyment of our National Parks and provide an opportunity to see what we are doing to manage these areas for natural and cultural heritage conservation and recreation.

A fee is charged on each of the activities so that we can extend the range and scope of the Discovery activities available. Get the most out of Discovery. Remember to Slip, Slop, Slap, Slurp If you are participating in activities, please note: Bookings are essential to ensure a place in the activity.
In the case of insufficient bookings or in the event of an emergency, such as bushfires or wet weather, an activity may be cancelled or the program altered. Printed finishing times are approximate only. Children under 12 years of age must be accompanied by a supervising adult. The family rate applies to two adults and up to three children. The child rate is for children aged 5-16. Children under 5 attend free. Bring food, water, wear good walking shoes, a hat, sun protection and a camera! Please note that vehicle entry fees apply in some parks

Discover the Rocky Shore Visitors will be taken along Tapalla Point in the Huskisson Sanctuary Zone to explore the complexities of intertidal communities, as well as some of the geological features including dropstones, glendonite beds and weathering. Dates: Tuesday 28 December 9:30am Saturday 1 January 11:30am Sunday 16 January 11:30am Exploring EstuariesCurrambene Creek, Huskisson Visitors will be taken through the Currambene Creek Mudflats Sanctuary Zone where they will be introduced to the animals and plants of the seagrass meadows, mangrove forests and intertidal mudflats. Learn how they have adapted to survive in these harsh conditions. Our guide will explain the cultural significance of this area to local Aboriginal communities. Dates: Friday 31 December 11am Tuesday 4 January 2pm Saturday 15 January 11am A Living MuseumAbrahams Bosom/Whale Point, Currarong Visitors will explore the indigenous cultural and maritime heritage associated with the Jervis Bay Marine Park. A guide will explain the ways in which Aboriginal people collected food and obtained shelter in this area. The walk will end at Whale Point where the wreck of the Merimbula rests where the guide will explain its history and that of other shipwrecks found within the marine park.
