March 2012 The Resurrection Retreat

April 5 - 8, 2012 Private, secluded lake outside Manhattan Two events this year are particularly exciting for me: Montana. Big Sky country. If you have not experienced the vastness of the West, this is a brilliant opportunity: a weeklong retreat over the Summer Solstice at a remote ranch in the Montana mountains where consciousness expanding work has been occurring for years. My friend Joe Weston and I will be co-facilitating Waking the Open-Hearted Warrior: Empowerment Camp at Feathered Pipe Ranch in June. His recently released book, Mastering Respectful Confrontation, is a practical complement to the work I've been exploring around Soulful Power in retreats and in writing for the last few years. Held during the longest, light-filled days of the year for those of us in the northern hemisphere, Empowerment Camp will yield clarity about our relationship to self, spirit and the nature of power, transforming blocked and unhealthy energy patterns into graceful healing, transformation and personal empowerment. Timed to coincide with the new moon and the Summer Solstice, ceremony and ritual will be woven in to mark our passage, including a journey to a shamans cave in the oldest onceinhabited cave system in North America. Experience spiritual rebirth, renewal and rejuvenation at an exquisite location over Easter weekend.

A Call for Heroes: The Soulful Power Retreat

May 25-28, 2012 Miami Shores, FL

And then theres Hawai'i in September. I was born in the Caribbean and love its warm, clear and bright waters and its diverse and colorful people. Yet I find something mysterious and magical about the Hawaiian Islands. In truth, my annual Hawaiian retreats are motivated as much by my own desire to go back again and again as by a genuine intent to share this paradise--one of the most remote land areas in the world--with others. The word Hawaii itself conjures its magic. Ha means breath, or breath of life, and Wai means water, but also refers to mana or life force. I means supreme. The mana or spiritual energy that imbues these islands is palpable as soon as one lands even at Honolulu airport. The word haole, which is how locals refer to those of European descent, literally means lacking breath. According to legend, when our European ancestors first found the islands they were thought to be tragically disconnected from their breath, bodies, and essence. For too many of us this is still the case!

During this week-long journey, by means of multiple breathwork sessions and other healing experiences, and by simply being in an exquisite healing environment, we will reconnect with ourselves in a deep way. The Big Island is one of the few places on the planet where we can witness the Earth actively continuing to give birth to herself. Inspired by these dramatic sights, we will reconnect with our breath, reclaim our bodies, reignite our passion and give expression to our commitment to be more that we have ever been before. This years journey to Hawaii introduces what Im calling Soulful Treks--what results when a vacation and a retreat get married and produce a child. In addition to the lifechanging teachings and experiences normally offered in our retreats, we will feature exciting adventures to explore this islands unique offerings. So dont miss our maiden journey! Let us dive into the transformational fire of Love. Let us unleash our passion and burn away what no longer works: thoughts, beliefs, behavior patterns that are no longer a match for who we are and are becoming. Let us then cleanse and purify ourselves in the comforting and healing Hawaiian waters. The theme for this Soulful Trek is A Call for Heroes: An Initiation into Power & Purpose. As the Mayan calendar comes to an end, what kind of world do we envision--and take a stand for--in the next 26,000 years? Lets initiate ourselves into our soul's calling and our true purpose.

What does it mean to be a hero -- to live heroically -- in these times? Have you known or even suspected that you had a role to play as teacher, healer or spiritual activist? We are living in what may be the most critical juncture in the evolution of humanity. The clarion call has gone out: All hands on deck!

The shift is about to hit the fan! An unexpectedly insightful, moving and delightful documentary from Tom Shadyac, the director of Bruce Almighty and Ace Ventura. Faced with the possibility of death after a cycling accident, he sets out to ask global thought leaders "What's wrong with our world and what can we do about it?" and in the process discovers what's right with the world.
