Leadership is very important in any business organization. There is no designation in management such as Leader. A person who holds important position by formal methods may not have leadership qualities. It is very important for such persons to acquire leadership qualities besides executing managerial performances.
KPCL is a service industry which is one and the only government based corporation generating electricity. In such organizations, the people at the helm of affairs must have very high leadership styles and qualities to influence the people working under them. Therefore a project study is conducted at KPCL to know the opinions of the employees about their managers having leadership qualities which are very important and which has high influence on employees.

ANALYSIS
It is seen from the above table that 60% of the respondents are aged 51 years and above and 23% of the respondents are in the age group of 41-50 years while 10% of them are in the age group of 31-40 years and the rest of the 7% are quite young.
INFERENCE
From the above table it is inferred that the respondents are highly mature and the data provided by them is relied upon to carry out further study with regards to Leadership position at KPCL & its influence on employees.

ANALYSIS
The data reveals that 40% of the respondents are engineering graduates, 30% of the respondents are general graduates and there are 7% of the respondents who have professional qualification while 13% are diploma holders and the rest 10% accounting to other specialized graduation.
INFERENCE
In view of the above, it is confirmed that respondents are adequately educated to understand the value of leadership and its importance in running a business organization.

ANALYSIS
The response shows that 26% are Assistant Executive Engineers and finance managers respectively, 24% of the respondents are Assistant managers while 17% of them are Executive engineers and the rest 6% are Personal Assistants.
INFERENCE
Considering all the above factors, its clear that the numbers of executives are technical people who have to execute programs as well as lead their subordinates.

ANALYSIS
It is seen from the above table that a huge percent i.e 83% of the respondents are Male employees and the rest 17% are Women employees at KPCL.
INFERENCE
Hence it is evident that at KPCL men are more needed as they have to work in project fields, etc. However small portion of women who are employed are important in general administration, finance departments, etc.

It is observed that 66% of the respondents have moderately agreed, while 10% have strongly consented to the statement. 17% have remained neutral and the rest 7% moderately disagree.
INFERENCE
Therefore it is inferred that though the leaders at KPCL are not highly charismatic yet they have adequate0% charismatic characteristics to lead their 7% 10% sub-ordinates.

It is observed from the table that 76% of the respondents have moderately agreed and 105 have strongly agreed though 14% have disagreed to the statement.
INFERENCE
Hence it is understood that though the sub-ordinates are not highly impressed by their managers, yet they have sufficient personality traits to impress their sub-ordinates.

The data reveals that again 74% of the respondents moderately agree, 13% of the others strongly agree and neither agree nor disagree respectively.
INFERENCE
It is confirmed that there is a moderate level of trust between the subordinates and their superiors and the positive point here is not even as single respondent has disagreed to the above statement.

Responses show that a good percentage of respondents i.e 87% of the respondents moderately agree, while the rest 13% strongly agree. The most important point here is not even a single respondent has disagreed or remained neutral on this statement.
